Ive seen the previous questions on milk being grainy but is anyone experiencing this with Aptamil Follow on. We've used hot water as well as water thats less hot but in all cases the milk seems like its in suspension and never quite blends thoroughly like the original 1st blue box.

Has the formula changed or are we doing something wrong. Im also worried as our LO doesnt seem to like this Follow on much as hes not finishing his bottles...

any ideas ladies??

When I first changed from SMA gold to SMA hungry baby, I noticed the difference in texture straight away. The SMA gold was much more finer than the hungry baby. Maybe second formula milk i.e hungry baby, follow on etc being grainy may be something to do with the ingredient to keep babies more fuller :?: if that makes sense  lol

I'm using Aptamil first milk and that's grainy despite the water being super hot. We've just changed over and haven't had this problem with any other brand.

yes maybe thats the case Kerry. Im currently online with Aptamil to ask them ....

We use Aptamil first and sometimes find it a little grainy, I've never thought to question it tho so I'll be interested to see what they say!

Just switched to Aptamil follow-on (level 3) a few days ago and noticed the exact same thing!!! Will be keeping an eye on this thread...

Hey LdS39, did you get any kind of answer from them? I tried letting the water cool a little longer (20 minutes rather than 5) and it did make a difference, although it's still grainy. I am considering switching brands because it's bugging me.

Just wanted to say - I decided to try out Cow & Gate today, and it is not grainy at all so I will be making the switch I think!
