I use aptamil formula milk but my 3month old baby girl is still too hungry, i am thinking about using aptamil for hungry babies but she had very bad colic in the first two months and i dont know if this will unsettle her or not?

hiya - my lo is only 2 weeks and im using the hungry baby milk now - as it seemed she was always hungry still.

She had colic aswell which actually has seemed to settle down since changing the milk? Maybe a coincidence but shes happier now :) try it!

I was told to avoid Hungry baby Aptamil if LO has a dodgy tummy (colic/constipation) by BOTH the HV and Aptamil themselves. Its thicker, harder to digest and stays in the gut longer.

I would just leave it, I mean all babies eat different amounts. I wouldn't worry too much. I believe if a baby is hungry, you feed them :)

My LO had a terrible night with wind last week after putting him on the hungry baby milk a few days before and when we discussed this with the HV she said you shouldn't put them on that milk before they're 6-8 weeks old because as a pp said it has stuff in it to make them feel fuller for longer, whey I think she said it was called, and it can unsettle their sensitive bellies. I said it was a joke how they put 'from birth' on it and she said it's just a money making thing probably. But after putting him back on the normal aptamil and getting infacol for him he's now way better.

I actually take back what I said!! Ive realised now that it must be the hungry baby which has made my LO have constipation - ive now put her on aptamil comfort and shes so much happier.

You need to do whats best for your baby - everyone is different and she may be fine on it :D its all about trial and error! Good luck!!

If you LO has had colic i would stay away personally. I gave my LO HB milk once and that was enough. I would just keep feeding on demand, my LO went hourly sometimes especially in the middle of growth spurts!. It does slow down eventually, my LO went o a 4 hourly routine around 5.5 months.
