My GP has prescribed us Aptamil Pepti because of LO's distress and general fussiness. She's not saying LO has a cows milk allergy, but thinks it could help towards her digestion of the formula. We are currently on SMA gold and i believe lo is mildly constipated because of this, she's also VERY windy and has smelly gas (ever since we introduced the SMA gold)

I am combi feeding, only giving LO a 100ml bottle of formula as her last feed before bed, and breastfeeding the rest of the time.

So i just want to ask really, has anyone tried this milk, even if your lo doesn't have a milk allergy? Has it helped with digestion/colic/ at all?
Any adverse side effects? Is the Aptamil comfort better?

thanks in advance :flower: xx

Holly used to be on Aptamil Pepti. As it's made from broken down cow's milk, it's easier for LO to digest. She never really settled on it, so a cow's milk protein intolerance was suspected and she is now on an elemental formula designed for allergies.

I would say that if your LO doesn't have any issues with cow's milk, then pepti would be fine - it's definitely easier to digest than regular formula. However, Holly suffered really bad wind and tummy troubles while on it, but the dr thinks that was due to her CMPI.

It's worth trying if your dr is willing to prescribe it, at least it would be free, whereas comfort milk wouldn't be x x

My LO is on Pepti 2 and he seems fine on it, he has only been on formula for the past 3/4 weks as until then he was breast fed. He has a dairy & soya intolerances, we has tried neocate before this and he refused it point blank!
