Evening all,

Just need other people's experiences really with Aptamil Stage 1. Molly's been on formula since 5 days old and has never had any problems with it.

We were giving her Colief but stopped 2 weeks ago and her colic has all gone. However, I've noticed that she only now goes once a day (used to go 6 times roughly) but when she does, there's a lot of poo and it's very watery.

She's still taking her 5 feeds a day, has no temperature, is still herself etc. so isn't showing any symptoms of a viral infection so am wondering if it's something related to the formula or changes to her gut around the 3 month mark.

Can anyone advise?

Hi there,

Abby has been on the same milk since we stopped BF and we've used infacol for her wind problems. In the last month or so, she's gone from several times a day to once a day to every other day and now down to about once a week!! We took her to the GP to check she was ok and he said she's probably just settling into her own rhythm and using more of the milk more efficiently. It's never watery though- more like a smooth paste.

Hope that helps!

Thanks for that, yeah it can sometimes be paste like, smells just like baby poo always has. I'll keep an eye on it, I know their gut is constantly changing so it could just be settling.

We use aptamil 1 and have done since he was 2 weeks (I bf until then) we were told to expect his poop to become darker and firmer, but it has not changed at all, it is still very soft and paste like, although it smells worse! He only goes once a day as well, although sometimes it can me more sometimes it is less. If she seems herself then I wouldn't worry, she is probably just finding her own rhythm! If she stops having wet nappies though then I would contact the dr incase she is dehydrated x

Yeah I'll keep an eye on it. She wees like a trooper (she'll be like me when she's older..I just quickly need the loo, hehe) so we're keeping on top of it. Thanks though for your experience.

My LO is on this formula too. Stopped BF after 5 days and he had a few days where he only went once and I was a bit worried. Now it's once or twice and it's def very soft and yellow paste like.I guess he was finding his own rhythm too. Sometimes softer than others. X
