This was eye-opening. Consumer reports tested a bunch of different brands of pregnancy tests and ovulation tests, and found that a lot of the ovulation tests actually would not show that a woman ovulated. Check it out! Especially if you use the First Response ovulation tests....

Only way to know for yourself if you have actually ovulated is Charting your temps :) x

I can't really chart my temps...I work nights, 3 12 hour shifts from 7p-7a so the time I get up is different everyday, and by that I mean I get up on my days I work about 4 or 5pm, some days I stay up when I get home and don't go to bed until about 1 or 2 and get up around 5, and other days I go to bed right away, but regardless I sleep about 3-4hrs. Other days when I'm off I may get up at 8am, or noon. I rarely get 8hrs of sleep and you can almost guarantee that in any given 7 days I get up at 4 different times and am up at least once for 24 hours and only sleep 4 hours at least twice. My doc doesn't think my BBT will be accurate but I'd be curious to see if anyone in my situation has done them with luck!

Oh and I almost forgot, my fertility specialist says his patients have the best luck with the Clear Blue tests actually showing when they O. I used First Response before but am going to switch to the Clear Blue, I never got a good solid positive on First Response but then again, we don't know when or if I ovulate.

Dini-- I am in the same situation as you, I work night shifts. From everything I've heard it makes BBT impossible. I've just out of curiosity taken my temp every time I wake up but it fluctuates a lot. Good luck!

""Amazingly, though, that wasn't even the worst-performing test Consumer Reports found. Answer Quick & Simple One-Step Ovulation Test got that dubious honor. "In laboratory tests using urine with an LH concentration of 91 mIU/ml, only one of six tested Answer kits registered positive. When we tested another six samples at a concentration of 96 mIU/ml, we got only two positive readings," CR reports.""

I got a pretty good positive with these tests.
