Just curious as to how many ladies out there had assisted deliveries. Did you really feel it was medically necessary for you? Did other problems arise because of the assisted delivery?
my LO was born via vacuum attempt first, followed by forceps, and I was given a 3rd degree episiotomy cut. I know it was medically necessary in my case as DD was a large baby for my petite body, and I couldn't push her out on my own, that and her heart rate was dropping during my pushing, so if intervention hadn't occurred DD might have died.
After birth, DD had many breastfeeding issues, which I later learned was because her neck was damaged during the forcep birth. She now has a muscular fibrosis we are working on correcting through physical therapy
