at home male fertility kits

hiya, has anyone use a male fertility kit at home one? how reliable are they?

and also how did it compare to a real sperm analysis? are they correct??xxx

We did two. They both pretty much told us that OH's sperm was great when in actually fact it's far less than great.

I agree they are really rubbish. We did one this week. You were supposed to compare the colour of the test to see if it was darker than the colour given. However, my dh's test was a completely different blue to the one they showed in the picture!!! Maybe he is an alien or something????!!!! xxx

The ones we did change colour and they give you a chart to compare it to. The two tests we did put OH's sperm in the very very good section based on colour yet the hospital tests indicated that his sperm is pretty shite. So, yeah, unfortunately, they are a waste of money.

As are Instalert OPKs, randomly. Positive every. single. day. Total waste of cash.

i find instaler the best lol.... they show me positive at theright times and i dont get fake positives. weird.

Yeah we brought one of these too when we started TTC - gave great results which really got our hopes up, also NHS SA did too - wasn't until we had private SA after 27 months TTC that we found out we have male factor infertility - as they did lots more tests on it. I wouldn't rely on a home test, its a shame they are allowed to sell these actually, but I guess they are just cashing in on us LTTTCers!

They are a waste of money since they
1. don't give you a number. 19 million is different then 1 thousand (yet both are classified as low)
2. don't look at motility or morphology - which if these are 0 then it doesn't matter if his count is high if all the sperm is bad and not going anywhere.
