I started BF and FF lol and now shes mainly FF.

We started her on Aptimil but it gave her bad bad wind and explosive poos.

We changed her to Aptimil Easy digest which made her poo like pellets.

She is now on C&G comfort and shes constantly screaming with wind and is completely constipated.

I give her infacol and gave her water. The water works but gives her the most explosive poos ever!

Not sure where to go from here as i reall thgough c&g would work

Thought i would see what you ladies think before i see my MW thurs.

Have you tried SMA? and what bottles are you using? It may be those causing the extreme wind?

Liss had a bit of colic, we switched from tommee tippee CTN to avent and her wind is fine now. We been on SMA from day 3 (BF first but she wasn't taking to it so we do both) and poos seem fine. Sometimes a bit constipated but water helps.

We have tried everything

Avent are good but this milk is to thick for their teats (even the fast flow), mam are also good. Dr browns did bugger all.

It seems to be the milk thats the problem not the bottles.

When i try to wind her she archs her back and while drinking shes scrunching her legs up and whining.

Have you tried infacol? That works well you have to give it before a feed. Or gripe water? I haven't tried that although have some just in case. Tigger in a tree... that maneuver is good for wind. You lay baby over your arm so the length of their body is along length of your arm and swing them. It really soothes them.

I'd try SMA if you think it is the milk if you haven't already

ive tried archie on every milk going and he was the same as your lo...screaming full of wind arching his back and swinging from the runs to constipated...it was suggested i try soya milk to see if he was intolerant to lactose or milk itself...since i changed him about 4 weeks ago hes been fine
i use cow and gate infasoy and hes great ...gaining weight well, not as gassy, bellyache gone and poo settled down to a twice a day routine
sma also do a soya milk...it might be worthwhile having a chat with your gp or mw about it

We had this problem with Aptimel - switched to Hipp organic and things were much better. Avent do a variable flow teat which is suitable for thicker liquids - think it has a small slit in the teat rather than a hole - you could try that as well. Looking at the labels - C&G and APtimel are almost identical so I'm not suprised switching hasn't made much difference! Downside to Hipp is that you can't buy the infant milk in cartons so you have to buy a box - its cheapest in Boots (5.99 rather than 6.98 at Tesco!)

Are you sure she isn't allergic to the dairy/lactose? with my oldest he was on formula by about a month old and he got really fussy and constipated (pellets is a sign that she is constipated, it shouldn't be like that) an we found out it was the lactose so we put him on lactose free formula and almost immediately he was soooooo much better. At about 6mo he went back to regular formula and he's been fine with milk since, it was just too much for his belly to digest at first

Thanks girls for the advice. Got GP to call me and he got me in straight away (my gp is round the corner lol)

He said she definatly isnt looking happy so hes put her on Whey Soya Milk and these anti colic drops as he said it sounds like she may be lactose intolerent and has colic aswell which makes one grumpy baby! lol!

Unfortunatly the bloody chemist only orders in this milk when needed so i have the drops but wont have the milk until tommorrow morning so tonight will be yet another nightmare one!

:hissy:

we have a lot of milk changes for various reasons hun and constipation is a symptom of changing the milk one night she screamed so much i took her to hospital they told me she was serverely constipated but to get her cool boiled water and it would pass once her body got used to the chages

I hope all is sorted once you get the milk!

Hey hun, Jacob was like this turned out he was lactose intorlant and is on LF milk. Soya milk gave him bad wind also :dohh:

He also suffered with colic. But if on a LF milk you dont need to use colief as it breaks down lactose in milk where there isnt any in them.

Have you tried denitox?? I tried infacol and it did F all but dentiox worked great. Along with the lactose free milk and colic bottles. (we tried about 4 bottles in the end) He grew out of colic about 3 months old but still cant handle milk products to this day. One day OH gave him some food but forgot to check label and it had milk in it and it was like being back to day one he screamed all night :dohh: so now we make sure to check everything as rusks etc and things you wouldnt think would have milk in it do :dohh:

Hopefully things settle for you and Lil one  XxxX
