Avent Bottles & Spit Up

Hey ladies. My LO has reflux and spits up... a lot. Even our very experience daycare provider is shocked at the amount!

We currently use Dr. Brown's bottles and she seems to do well with them in terms of gas/reflux. I'd like to cut down on the spit up, however. DH bought some Avent bottles. Does anyone have experience with them?

We used them but i didn't like them to be honest. He seemed to gulp down a lot of air with them which i don't think would help in terms of spit up. We currently use TTC2N with a staydown formula and he doesn't spit up anymore

I used avent with my oldest and am using them now. Have to warn you though...they tend to leak around the white ring that you screw on the bottle. There's a trick to keeping them from leaking. I cussed them so bad until I figured out from googling it that you have to twist it on while holding the cap. If you twist it from the ring it will be either too loose or too tight and will leak but if you twist it on while holding the cap it's just right. As far as them helping with reflux, my oldest dd had it and it didn't get better until we started adding rice cereal to her bottle. Soooo glad my lo now doesn't have reflux!

LO has severe reflux as well and we just made the switch...amazing!!

I've been using Avent bottles and PJ also has reflux. He does spit up but it's not at all excessive.

I'm so glad someone else mentioned the leaking! I thought it was just me and it was driving me mad! Thanks for the tip, I'll give it a try!

I think all babies are different and you need to just try them.

I have just got the dr browns bottles after finding that the Avent bottles gave Harry extremely bad wind.

I would personally rather clean a little but of spit up than have a windy baby :)
