Avent is supposed to launch their BPA free line in the summer. Has anyone seen them in stores yet?

I saw an advert on TV for them last night but am in UK. Maybe check the website for launch date?

I've spotted them on Amazon US/Canada! :D

Thanks Wobbs! They're available for pre-order as they wont be out till Oct 1!!! good to know!

Oh yer lol Missed that!!!

Theres other bottles alike if your after them - Born Free is one I think

:D

Please may i ask what BPA is?

BPA is a chemical contained in the hard shiny plastic that most baby bottles are made of. In studies it has been linked to obesity, ADD, even cancer. It is easily identifiable by the recycling code 7 on the bottom of the bottle.

I didn't know Avent was releasing a line of BPA free! I'll have to try them when they come out.

They've all been taken off the selves in the US. Stores can't sell tanted things after they find out just think of the law suits.

I'm in California and we still have them here. From what I've heard the FDA hired a company to research the effects of BPA, and the company said there were no harmful side effects. Then the FDA found out that the company had some affiliation with the major bottle companies, so they have hired a new company to research it. I can go to Babies R Us right now and buy bottles with BPA from every different brand.

Oh well could be wrong. but heres a site I just looked up theres already some BPA free bottlrs in Avent https://safemama.com/2007/11/22/bpa-free-bottle-and-sippy-cup-cheat-sheet/

I currently use Born Free and I love them, but Id like to have one or two of the Avent..

I think that the Avent BPA free ones that are already available are a drop in liner system right? Similar to Playtex. Are the ones they are releasing similar to the BornFree or something? I wanna try some.

Hello to all.

Number 7, your post is not quite correct.

Bisphenol A (BPA) is used in manufacture of some polycarbonate materials. However, some polycarbonate materials are not manufactured with BPA so it is incorrect to imply all polycarbonates contain BPA.

Also, the "7" you see on some plastics refers to polycarbonate plastic, not BPA. So, not all "7"s you see on the bottles contain BPA.

I just bought BPA free Avent feeding bottles. I got 2 260ml (9oz) for £9.00. This was at the baby show in Birmingham - but they are for sale in Toys R us, and Mothercare for about £11.00 for the same size.
These ones are made from Polyether Sulphone (PES), and as a result, are not transparent plastic, but have a (as Avent put it) "..natural honey-coloured tint"
I'm not sure about a 'liner system'?? These are regular, solid plastic bottles.
hope the info helps

Yup mother care have them. Just bought 4 x 9oz and 2 x 4oz
