Hello!

I have a 10 month old who drinks 3 bottles a day and we're away for the weekend. Was wondering what other people do? I was thinking of just washing them and air drying or possibly using the Milton stuff (I've never used it before) any tips would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you X

I'm going to use the Milton tablets! Panic over X

It's your choice of course, but most people stop sterilising around 6 months (and in some countries, people don't do it at all), so I'm sure your LO would be fine as long as the bottles are cleaned properly in hot water. But yes, in a pinch Miltons works well, but I have also taken the electric steriliser with me for weekends away. It doesn't take up that much space (actually the same as the bucket for the miltons does).

They have microwave sterilizer bags made by Dr browns bottles and by Munchkin and both come with 5 to 6 bags and each bag can be used up to 20 times. I use the Munchkin when I travel to my moms cause I have a 16 week old and he eats every 3 hrs. Not sure if that helps you but just a thought

I use Milton cold water steriliser as I got used to it in the hospital...i also have an electric one for bulk sterilising but I find the Milton one great. Only needs fresh water and tablet once every 24 hours and you just leave the bottle etc in for 15 minutes. Very easy and quick and less fuss than the electric steriliser  I'm pretty sure they do a travel size box as well as the normal size so would probably be worth checking that out.

When I've been away to hotels, I bring washing up liquid in a wee bottle and wash them in the sink... when she was small, I then boiled the kettle, filled the bottles, popped the teats in upside down, and then rinsed everything with boiled water, before boiling some more to make up the milk. But I stopped after about 5 months, as everything went in her mouth anyway, and as long as they were washed I thought that was ok. ( and she is fine!)

I picked up the microwave bags from Boots. They have 3 in a pack and each lasts 20 uses. Put 70ml of water and 3 mins in microwave.
