Awful cough and sore throat after section :(

Anyone exerienced anything like this? i had my section on Wednesday and was discharged today but this morning i woke up with a chesty type cough and a sore throat and have lost my voice more or less. Not sure whats happend there.

hi . i had a terrible cough after my c/s infact i had it with all of 3 c/s . did the physio come in a show you how to cough and clear it . she told me it was normal after a c/s . of its painful on your wound try holding a pillow over it it does help .

oh ouch, that must be panful! i had hayfever after my c-section and was sneezing like crazy was bloody painful every time x

I had a terrible cough after my csec but put it down to having to have a general so having a tube in my throat. I found that even with a pillow it hurt like hell and I was in tears in the hospital with frustration/pain. Ifound it help to sort of make an "ahem" noise to try and bring some of it up without having to cough too much. (I hope that makes sense) x

thanx ladies. Yesterday my voice was totally non existant but thankfully its returned a little today. Think it may be a bug or somethin not sure really, still got a sore throat aswell.

I had (and still have) an awful cough just before going in for mine (Tuesday) and still have it now. Whenever I coughed it was so painful on my wound I thought I was going to rip open! It's not so bad now, still hurts a little bit but not half as much as it did.

As for the sore throat - tea! I had one just before my section and wanted to shift it before going in - I drank so much decaff tea it was unreal, but it cleared up within a day or so. Honey and lemon too worked well for me.

Just to let you ladies know, my cough has pretty much gone and sore throat is also on the mend thankfully x
