The Heinz bottle says put in all BUT bottles. I tried her on a lil drinking cup thinky bob:lol: and she was getting really frustrated.

Is it really important 'not' to use her milk bottles? Shes use to them teats she took very little until I thought sod it and placed it in her bottle then she loved it!

Her first juice :wohoo: lol

Not sure here (good info for the future though :D) Glad she enjoyed her first juice :happydance:

Teats are not good for juice hun as it concentrates the suger to the teeth(teeth buds)
You can get some thingies that are a cross between teats and and cup, like a spout thingie
I think Avent do them so are interchangeable when older
gotta go now but wil find what i mean tommorow for you x

Added to my bad Mummy moments then lol

Teats I have on cup things are kinda square
Another is pure hard
Another is a Tommee one that apparantly is the next stage but imo difficult as you have to bite the teat area bit to get some out

Would be interested in some suggestion then defo

x

My niece has jucie in bottle, its very weak tho. We tried her with a cup and it seems to go down the wrong hole every time and we felt sorry for her.

So yes we do it

this was the only thing i did do lol, my little sisters teeth all crumbled due to juice out a bottle!

never put juice in a bottle for my 2 :) used a cup

Any suggestions of cups for 5 month olds?

Hi i always used a soft spout feeding system from boots you buy the bottle and you get a teat and a white soft spout and the bottle has handles that you can add or take off as you want however its a few years since i bought one but i am sure they will sell something similar also i think avent brought out a cup with a soft spout .Youre little one wont like the sensation of the spout in her mouth at first but once she gets used to not having to suck like she does on a teat you should have no problems.

Hi found the link to the feeding system i was on about from boots

I had a similar problem tried all different cups...none seemed to do the trick, so i chose one and persisted he got the hang of it bout a month later x

dont put any juice in bottles it can cause bottle rot in your childs mouth, ive seen active bottle rot and the poor child just cried with pain.

I was just reading on bottle rot, and it says it can be caused by formula too. Not just juice. The formula turns to an acid-like substance on the teeth after sitting in the mouth for a prolonged period of time, and it said that the best way to prevent it is to give them a small amount of water to rinse it off their teeth.

But anyways, I've been giving Colton juice out of his bottle since he was ... 3 weeks old? around there anyways. He isn't of tooth-bearing age yet though, so I really dont know what to say to help. I guess I should probably stop giving him the juice through it soon though.

Another member mentions the cup with the removable handles. I have a set like this. My mom got it for Colton for transitioning to food. It came wiht a 2oz bottle that had nubs on the nipple for soothing teething, and then a 4oz cup with removable handles and the sippy part (where the stuff comes out) is soft, instead of hard, for easier transition. It really does look neat, even though I haven't used it yet.. you could try getting something like that. If you haven't tried that, yet.
I just looked and they are "Nuby" bottles/cups.

you can remove the valve on this so it's not as hard to drink from

ino wat u mean about the teats being difficult on the cups as you have to bite it and mase wasnt getting along with it at all.. Wobbs all i done was buy a stage one boots own beaker cup thing, then i took the thing underneath the teat of thats meant to stop spillage, now he loves it!! hth might of confused u abit lol xx

We have one of these and its great https://img.tesco.com/pi/xpi/8/5010415311108_200.jpg

We tried all sorts but nothing was very good as they were non-spill which ment Noah had to suck really hard & just ended up chomping!!

These are great 85p in Tesco, easy to drink out of and spill proof when you shut the teat/spout so can just chuck in your bag with no worries!

the only thing i can suggest hun, is pick a beaker and persist with it. DOn't swap and change them.

I see kiddies with bottles a lot! Didn't realise and maybe others dont how much of a no it is although as someone pointed out even the milk carton suggests being aware of the rot! So maybe its a case of just looking after her wee gums?!

She hates the hard cups :dohh:

Connor has used the Avent cup from being about 10 month old, and still loves it. I'd recommend that! :)
