Well it looks like I'm back on the roller coaster of having a small baby and wondering wether or not his growth will continue or stop. I lost my daughter last year to this at 9 days old and cannot believe it's looking this way again :( At the moment he's measuring 2 weeks behind. Anyone else? Xx

No help really, just wanted to say keeping everything crossed and hope all will be on for you xxxx

Hi I am totally new here but my baby has been measuring small too. I have an appointment with the foetal docs tomorrow pm.

This is my 3rd baby and after 2 big boys this pregnancy is completely different.

How small is your baby? I'm in the UK so they dont say how far behind babies are, they just give measurements x

Hugs honey..I know its a difficult time fr u..my baby always measured 2-3 weeks behind.. N was told to expect baby less than 5lbs at term. I battled lot of issues like low amniotic fluid, thick blood etc which indicated premature delivery.. In the end, I had my 6 pound baby at 38w5d. Remember.. All pregnancies r different.. N cheer up..

Thanks ladies. I'm 25 weeks and there saying he's measuring. 3 weeks behind. 387 grams. I have no fluid and the dopplers are bad too. Minimum blood flow to baby :(

I've been following you on the main page sammie - hoping your little man puts on some weight for you before tomorrow xxxx

Hello! Just wanted to give you some hope regarding small babies. My son was a severe case of iugr. The specialist decided to bring him out at 27 weeks because he hadnt grown since 22 weeks. The placenta wasn't working well so he wasn't receiving enough blood flow. He was born weighing a measly 1lb4oz (570 grams)

We were in one of the country's 4 hospitals of tier 4, ie super specialised in gestational complications and premature births. Even then they were pessimistic. They told us to prepare for the worst. 25% odds of survival and certainly severe handicaps, mental and physical, if he did survive. We were offered palliative care or to try to save him.

Once we decided to give him a chance at life, they worked very hard to save him. The first few days he would flatline and went into arrest constantly. Then he had all the worst complications including punctured lung, brain bleeds, NEC and septisemia. Very slowly over months he improved.

He left the hospital partially paralysed due to cerebral palsy (brain damage) and with severe eye issues (retinopathy). This time we were told he might never walk and might go blind.

Well guess what. He's turning 5 next month and he's perfectly fine. He's a happy, bright, loving little boy. We couldn't be more blessed.

You can see pics in my SIG.

Thinking of you!! Two weeks behind is not too worrying at this point and it sounds like you're in good hands. 26weeks is already good! I remember the weight estimates via scans were always very approximate. Are you having weekly scans?
