My dd has been bad with reflux from day one she was on sma gold at first but we then changed to cow and gate number one but still she was being sick a lot she was then referred to hospital who discharged her as she was gaining weight but the sickness continued so the doctor prescribed a thickener but still no good am fed up of the doctors just saying shes content and gaining weight they don't have to watch her being sick or change her 10 times a day ( sorry rant over ) has anyone any tips on reflux? Special bottles? Formula? Anything?

The only thing that helped my Dd was weaning, though she was displaying readiness and loved it from day 1. Ds needs gaviscon and ranitidine unfortunately.

They can be really unhelpful with babies. Dd never gained weight to line nor ate well but still no help. Ds as in a lot of pain and this led to them treating him properly

Thanks for your reply my dd is to young for solids yet but hopefully won't be long until she's ready. They really are useless when it comes to babies!

They really are useless.

Dd was weaned at 17w BTW, I should have said that. I got advice to do that from a different gp to my own. Current gp advised same for ds and he wasn't interested.

We had the exact same with our dd. Sick after feeds but as she didn't lose weight told me there was nothing wrong with her. I would love to tell you weaning and changing milk helped but it didn't. Unfortunately we had to keep going through it and she finally stopped doing it after her first birthday when we switched to cows milk. Hope that you find something that works and i will be watching this thread for solutions in case i have the same problems again. Xx
