Hi Ladies,
Sorry this is so late, i have been mega busy!
So, Harrison Alan Ralphs arrived safely on the 24th March 2012, weighing 9lbs 12oz at 22.51.
On Friday 23rd March, around 11.00am my hind waters broke, I went into hospital around 3pm to get checked, they confirmed it was my waters and told me to come back within 24 hours to be induced if i didn't go into labour before.
So off home i went with my hubby and DD, to wait for things to happen.
We kept our DD up late and watched films and had sweets and took lots of photo's of our lat night just the 3 of us, and made sure i'd packed everything we needed in our hospital bag etc, and packed DD's bags, then had an early night to try and get sleep for the big day, or labour!
Woke the next morning, and i wasn't in labour, so arrived at the hospital around 12.00 midday to be induced.
Midwife checked me over and i was 4/5cm already... hadn't even felt a thing.. she hooked me upto the monitors for an hour, then i was free to walk around the hospital grounds until they had a bed for me on the delivery suite to be induced.
Whilst i was walking around i started getting some painful contractions, got back to the ward and had paracetamol/codiene for the pain.
They came up to get me around 7.50pm, and took me down to be checked and then induced, when she checked me i was 6/7cm, so she broke my waters around 8.30pm, that's when the contractions started getting more intense and kept coming thick and fast.
I was given one 5ml shot of diamorphine around 8.50pm/9.00pm, and was ready to push by 10.00pm, i had a little trouble getting Harrison over the 'u'u bend, so midwife told me to squat, by this point all pain relief had wore off and i was on nothing at all.
I pushed for 50 min, and then baby Harrison was born at 22.51pm.
I had a 2nd degree tear, and a small epeisiotimy (sp?), and hardly and sickness this time around either!
He is absolutely beautiful and I am completely smitten!!
I am managing to breast feed, but i have struggled with it a bit, but doing ok so far...
That was my very breif birth story, as it all happened so quickly!
Here's a pic of my little man..
Harrison Alan.
