baby cold and cough

My little bot is 7 months and he is full of a cold and terrible cough!! All the mucus u can hear it!! I have tried everything, olbas, calpol, saline drops, propping him up! U name it! It's terrible at night and like I say he's propt up! It's really getting me anxious and I can't sleep I'm even in the same room as him! It sounds like he's all snotty and struggling then all of a sudden he does a massive coughing do! I have been to the docs and they sed it's jus virul and nothing they or me can do! I'm jus so worried! Anybody have any advice please xxxx

Sorry no particular advice. My 7 mo has just got over a similar virus wih cold and cough that lasted about 4 or 5 weeks and resulted in a chest infection and antibiotics. The cough was a lot worse at night. We pretty much did what you are already doing, cot head end elevated, olbas oil, saline spray for nose and calpol. The cough may take a good few weeks to clear up, If lo gets wheezy definitely go back to Drs, that's when we got the antibiotics. Oh a humidifier in the nursery definately helped for our lo!

put a thick layer of baby vicks on his feet & some socks on hun. keep doing what your doing too

plus when you or OH have a shower take him in the bathroom too, the steam with losen his chest up xx
