I had my beautiful boy on Monday 6th January at 9:57pm. Due date Tuesday 7th January.
I woke with period pains on the morning, they were not painful and irregular. As the morning went on they got slightly more painful but still not really regular. I went for a walk and bounced on my ball to try and get things going. I had a routine midwife appt at 2:30pm which I went along too. Midwife had already said at my last appt that she would give me a sweep at this appt as baby felt a good size. So she did the sweep and I was 3cm dilated, fully effaced and she could feel baby's wriggling on her finger.
As soon as the sweep was done the contractions got A LOT more painful and started coming more regular. So went home and continued bouncing on my ball. As the afternoon went on the got slowly got more painful and regular, come late afternoon I had a bath and got ready to go to hospital, stopped off at tesco on route and got some food!! Got to the hospital for about 7pm, was 6cm dilated so midwife filled the birthing pool. Went in there for about 1.5hours which was nice, I was now in agony so needed to get out. She examined me and I was 8cm dilated so she broke my waters and ouchhhh the contractions got really painful and started to get the urge to push. I had just had gas and air until this point but was in agony so demanded they gave me a shot of meptid, even tho baby was so close to been born. This didn't have chance to work and I pushed out my 10lb boy at 9:57pm with just gas and air. It absolutely killed me and was pure agony, worse than with my daughter!
I had some tearing so spent a whiles been sorted out down there. I also lost a lot blood but that settled down so no other action needed to be taken.
I am very proud and am so in love my boy. He is 10lb of pure perfection
We are both doing really well and I came out of hospital the next afternoon so wasn't even in for 24hours.
