So! Birth story. Its very short haha. I woke up on Sat night once due to a strong BH. Nothing too much though, K was sleeping with us and was restless so I wasn't sleeping very well and thats probably why I felt it. I thought it was going to be the day and kept staying awake to look out for stronger contractions but nothing OH got up with K and let me sleep. At 9am I got up and felt enormous pressure down below. But I've had that before and it was just his positioning. No BH no nothing. At 1045 I was sitting on the sofa browsing the net and I had 1 strong contraction that blew me away as it was so sudden. I thought I'll get up and do the dishes and had another one 5 min later while doing the dishes, I actually had to stop and focus on my breathing. OH heard me and asked whats happening as I said I'm not sure but smt is going on.. Wasn't too sure though... In the next half hour I kept having strong contractions so by 1120 I told OH that this is it but wasn't sure if we should go in yet. 
We called the nanny, called the doula who recommended to wait for another hour before we go in to see if it picks up.. Boy am I glad we didn't listen. At 1135 we got in the cab, 1145 arrived at the hospital.. Birth centre was amazing and the midwife was just incredible! Couldn't have been any happier! I got examined and was 6cm dilated!
Was asked if I wanted to use the pool and they started running it. Once I got examined at 1155 my waters broke and contractions were so strong I lost it! It was all too quick for me to try and stay in control.. it just happened too fast. I now know why my midwife told me before that she hopes its quick but not too quick. I completely lost the plot. Got the gas & air which didn't do anything but I felt like I had something to focus on. I wanted to push straight away but nothing happened so was told to get on all fours. Next push his head was out and then his body. Was such a great sensation to push! It was the best part! Apparently he came out with his hand next to his face! 
That explains why I was feeling a hand trying to come out the days before and people were saying I'm crazy 
We then had skin to skin for about an hour.. Didn't cut the cord until it stopped pulsating which was about 30 min later? Delivered the placenta about 40 min later. I then had stitches. Had a 2nd degree tear. It wasn't too bad. Has some local anaesthetic and the gas and air just for the fun of it. Was kinda funny.
Same evening we were at home and was soooo nice to be in my own bed! Baby G was born 3860kg and is 54cm long! A nice big baby! He is doing really well and K is so excited about him!!
