hi all
lo has reflux and we were prescribed infant gaviscon yesterday.

not sure if this is coinciding with a growth spurt...lo is six weeks....but after having it with a six o'clock feed, I was feeding her before bed, around half seven, she had another big feed, the feel asleep, the woke up suddenly screaming. she was a little sick but it was much thicker then normal so I know some went down. she took an hour or so to settle and then was feeding fr what felt like three solid hours and falling asleep but the being wide awake as soon a I put her down.

she's been very sleepy today, have tried to put her down three times butha yelled after ten mins or so each time.....because of reflux sometimes she won't go down!

worried the gaviscon caused her pain and maybe should hold on till after growth spurt?

lo is ebf......so also if anyone has any tips for how to get it into her would be great!!
thanks

Dr prescribed baby gavs for my baby girl about 6 weeks ago and it made everything worse! She began puking more, something she had never really done as she had more of a silent reflux... Baby gavs also made her very very constipated. In the end I changed her milk to a special colic and comfort milk and it has helped soo much more than the gavs.

My friend FF and BF and was also prescribed baby gavs, she would express her BM then mix the gavs in with this, ,but I think the gavs has to be mixed with a certain amount of milk so you best check that out?? Think its 1 sachet to 4oz (something like that, Im not sure tho) My friend also said her LO would refuse the gavs in her BM, but take it when it was mixed with formula! :)

To help see if you can tilt everything? We have propped up the cot and moses basket with books so my LO is on a tilt, this has helped. I also kept her upright for atleast 30mins to an hour after all her feeds. Which is okay but when its half two at night its hard work keeping your eyes open! LOL

Nothing has seemed to have worked straight away for us but over the past month or so I have certainly began to notice an improvement in her colic symptoms.........

We started LO on it last thurs. I thought I saw an improvement over the wknd, but in the last two days, the vomiting has become worse again. :-(

It always seems that it can make a baby constipated or worse after a few days. We dumped it and used SMA Staydown instead. It really helped. We did go onto medication but this defo helped

thanks guys, I had been expecting some big poos since she ate so much last night but not had much at all today so had wondered about constipation!

only given her three doses but already wondering if just managing with cot tilting etc, which we had been doing is just a better option? getting it into her is near impossible and time consuming plus I'm not sure of the benefits if she's going to be constipated!

:-(

she finally pooed and it had def bunged her up, just on 3 doses!!! not great as then that causes her issues instead!.,

It made things worse for my LO. More screaming at feeds plus bonus constipation.
