I've just noticed cos I'm laid on the sofa she always kicks me the side that is touching the sofa and I noticed she does it to the mattress when I go to bed .. I was just wondering if that's because I'm squashing her or something lol??

I wondered the same thing. My little lady seems to prefer my right side (which is the side I tend to lay on most.) It never fails, as soon as I lie down she's kicking away.

I worry about the same thing! Especially because sometimes she'll move in a jerking sort of way, so I'm turning over constantly, worrying that I'm hurting her somehow.

Yeah, I notice it more on my left because I always sleep on that side and its dead uncomfortable especially when she drags her foot across my side :l

I don't think you are squashing her. There is alot of padding and amniotic fluid keeps them safe in there. But now that she has her eyes open she can see objects shapes through the belly and feel the pressure on the uterus and so she kicks it. It's like us poking at them and they kick back. I don't think it's doing any harm. I get kicked from both sides down low punches and everything, I wouldn't worry. They are probably just trying to find a comfy position to lay in as space is getting crowded in there.

This happens to me everytime I lay down. Don't worry, you are not squishing the baby. I thought this too with my 1st pregnancy, but my OB reassured me they are well protected in there. I still turn onto the other side when he kicks too much thinking maybe he is uncomfortable.

Mackenzie does this. Lol it's impossible to get comfortable because no matter how I lay she is kicking that side. She also doesn't like anything touching my stomachs so she will kick until I move and sit up.

Little diva already.

Haha, same, she nearly knocked my dinner flying the other day because I had the plate on my belly :P

I honestly wouldn't worry, I can't win if I lay on him he kicks and if I lay on her she kicks lol If your squashing one then god help me with two x

now u got me nervous lol. i notice my son does the same thing. im wondering are we crushing them or something?? ugh...i cant wait for this to be over so we dont have to worry about these things anymore.

Thats weird my bub does that too. I giggle because I can feel her punching the matress lol.

But it seems she's always on that side, I'm getting strechmarks in that place, the other side doesnt have any.

For me, it doesn't matter what side I'm on. I'll start on my left side, and Logan will work his way down to the mattress and kick the side until I move. So then I flip to the right side, and he'll work his way down and kick that side. It's the "Make Mommy Move Until She Just Gives Up and Falls Asleep" game! :haha: :nope:

The bad part is that I'll eventually fall asleep, but in the middle of the night, I'll wake up from a light sleep to his kicking and end up in the flipping sides game.

Exactly the same as me! And when I get up to pee at 7 am she goes nuts and moves alot and keeps me up. I eventually fall asleep almost an hour later and end up sleeping in too late!!

I'm so glad I read this because I have been wondering the same thing!! As soon as I lie down on the bed my little girl starts kicking into the mattress. I was getting a little worried.

mine does it too lol. it can be annoying but i am always glad to feel her move. And if i wake up in the middle of the night 2 mins later shes awake.

lol yours little ones seenm to kick only sofas or matresses. but mine is so naughty he even kicks out his fathers hand or anything touching to go away like his practicing boxing with him. instant punches.:haha:

My boys are doing the same thing. I am not worried that I am squishing them. I just imagined that they get shifted upwards/sideways when I lie on my side and that I can just feel them better just as if I were poking or pressing down on my belly. I quite like feeling them like that and I often stick my hand between my belly and the mattress cause I love to feel a foot or a hand poking out :D
