I really don't know what to do.

We go to Sicily when dd will be a few days short of 11months old.

Both my other children went abroad when they were under 1 and I took pre made cartons with us but....

My dilemma this time, she's on sma staydown so they don't do premade cartons and to make the milk up from powder you need to chill the water first and I don't know if we are going to have a fridge plus do you use tap water? I've heard you shouldn't use bottled water for babies?

If I switched her to cows milk a month early is the milk like our milk in Italy?!

Or do I switch her milk to say sma gold so I can take cartons ( she had staydown for reflux which dosent really bother her much now)

Confused! Help x

If you dont have a fridge, then cows milk is best not to be used.

I would take all the formula you will need - normally double the price abroad, certainly in popular resorts.

Most formulas require you to make bottle with freshly boiled milk which is fine if you have a kettle.

I would use bottled water to make bottles abroad, I would never drink any tap water myself abroad.

We went abroad when both my LOs were just turning 1 and we took powder, made a fresh bottle each time fresh from kettle, my LOs would only have 2 milk feeds one morning and one night so made it easier!

The only problem is my milk tho, its thickened, the powder had to put in chilled water then slightly warmed If I used boiled water I would end up with a solid bottle full!!!

Easiest thing to do is find out whether you will have a fridge or not!!

Contact the hotel etc :flower:

We're on stay down aswel it's annoying when ever we go anywhere lol. Personally if it was me I'd swap her milk back to normal sma before you go and see how she goes. Then if she's ok onit then the cartoons will be easier for you to manage.
Docs told me reflux improves dramatically with age especially when eating, and with your being nearly one I'd say she should be ok. But yeah I'd suggest trying before you go just incase.

Yes she's been alot better since she could sit up, she only ever brings a tiny amount now occasionally which i think is just normal.

I think that what I will do, it's really not long then until the switch to cows milk so it'd prob be a good indication whether she's going to be happy with that anyway! Xxx
