Hi all. I had my little girl yesterday at 6:08am. She weighed 6lbs 12oz.

My waters broke on Wednesday night at 11pm so I went to hospital. With me being pre-term they kept me in the maternity ward and I was told that if nothing happened within 24 hours, they'd induce me. Got to 11pm Thursday and I was having a few niggles but nothing much and they couldn't take me back to labour ward as they were busy so I was told to try and get some sleep, they'd wake me when they had a midwife free.

I woke around 1:00am Friday with some painful contractions. Luckily a midwife has just come in to the maternity ward to get me anyway. She took me through and checked me over, was 3cms dilated. At 3am I was hooked up to a drip to regulate and intensify the contractions. Started on gas and air around then too. At 4am I was 4cms and had diamorphine cos I was in agony, the drip had to be turned off as I ended up having too many contractions and was getting no space in between them.

I started feeling the need to push just before 6am but the midwife wouldn't check me again until 7am. After about 10 minutes of trying not to push, I just gave in and did what I felt like I needed to do. She was born after 4 big pushes in a space of 5 minutes. No tearing or stitches needed.

She's perfect but unfortunately has contracted an infection from my waters being gone for too long. I'm home now but she has to stay in the neonatal ward on an antibiotic course for at least 5 days. I'm hoping to have her home by Wednesday :)

First pic is when she was first born and dressed, second was yesterday once she was in her incubator and third is from today now she's awake and feeling a bit better. Also, a video of her from today. I am so in love with her :cloud9:

Yeah she's perked up loads today. Didn't see her awake properly at all yesterday so she's clearly starting to feel better :D

Welcome to the World Princess Parker! x x x

Congratulations! What a beautiful baby :) Im so sorry to hear that she contracted an infection and has to stay in the neonatal ward. I hope she has a speedy recovery and you can take your little girl home soon. Best wishes :) xx

Thanks Bev! We definitely do make pretty babies, I can't get over how gorgeous she is.

Infection seems to be clearing up well, she has to finish the 5 day course so assuming she has no other issues arise, we can either bring her home on Tuesday evening or Wednesday morning.

Thank you everyone :) x
