Feb. 25, 2009 - About 39,000 toys from CBB Group are recalled. The fishing games, baby rattles and pull-a-long cars contain small parts, which pose a choking hazard. Feb. 19, 2009 - Button eyes that can detach and pose a choking hazard have prompted the recall of 35,500 Old Navy stuffed toys in the U.S. and 5,400 toys in Canada. Included in the recall are Brown Plaid Creature (Stubby Stuberson), 612756; Pink Striped Dove, 600571; Grey Dog, 600572; Hot Pink Creature (Lucy Toothy), 612800; White Dog (Dr. Poopsie), 612738; Brown Penguin, 612672; Light Pink Rabbit, 612671; Brown Reindeer, 612728; and Dark Pink Rabbit (Honey OBunny), 612806. Hill Hooded Sweatshirts
Feb. 12, 2009 - The strangulation death of a 3 year old boy prompted the recall of 300,000 Hill hooded sweatshirts because the drawstring at the hood can be caught on things and strangle a child. The boy who died became caught on playground equipment. Hill Kid Pullover Sweatshirt and Hill Kid Zipper with Hood are included. They were sold at small retailers in Texas and Calif. Remove the drawstring from the hood to remove the hazard, or you can return the sweatshirt to the store where purchased or to Hill for a refund. Call 877-322-8760.
Land of Nod Bunk Beds
Feb. 5, 2009 - About 750 Land of Nod Cottage bunk beds are recalled because when screws are missing from the upper bunk's guardrails, the vertical slats can detach, allowing a child to fall while getting in or out of the bunk bed. Model numbers 236-519 and 188-174 in white finish and 459-410 and 172-596 in pine/honey finish are affected. Model numbers are on stickers inside the lower bunk headboard. Check to see that all screws that attach the guardrails have been installed. If they have not been installed, stop using the beds as bunk beds immediately and call 800-933-9904 to receive free replacements screws.
Safety 1st SmartLight Stair Gates
Feb. 4, 2009 - About 100,000 Safety 1st SmartLight stair gates are recalled because the hinges that hold the stair gate in place can break, posing a fall hazard if the gate is placed at the top of stairs. Only gates with model number 42111 made before Dec. 31, 2007 are affected. The model number is found on a sticker under the handle panel, and the date code is printed below the handle with an arrow for the month and the year in the center. Jan. 15, 2009 - About 200,000 Fisher Price Rainforest Portable Play Yards made by Simplicity / SFCA are recalled because one or more rails can unexpectedly collapse, posing a fall or entrapment hazard. Simplicity / SFCA has not responded to consumer complaints or requests for recall, so Fisher Price is assisting customers with the process, though they didn't manufacture the product. More than 1,000 incidents of the rails collapsing were reported, including many minor injuries, and five reports of more serious injuries. Carter's Advises of Rashes Associated with Heat Transfer (Tagless) Labels
Oct. 24, 2008 - Carters, Inc. is advising parents and caregivers that they have received reports of a small number of infants developing rashes on the upper back after wearing garments with heat-tranferred (tagless) labels in them. This advisory applies to the fall 2007 line. The label on the inside back of the garment has a raised, rather than stenciled, background. Delta Dropside Cribs
Oct. 21, 2008 - The death of an 8-month-old has prompted the recall to replace missing safety pegs for about 985,000 Delta dropside cribs. When the safety pegs in the base of each leg are missing from the lower track, the crib locks can disengage and detach if lowered below the peg hole, creating a hazardous gap. A child can become entrapped and suffocate in this gap. All Delta cribs manufactured in Taiwan or Indonesia with the "Crib Trigger Lock with Spring Peg" hardware are affected. Model numbers include 4320, 4340, 4500, 4520, 4530, 4532, 4540, 4542, 4550, 4551, 4580, 4600, 4620, 4624 (production dates 01/06 thru 11/07), 4640, 4660, 4720, 4735, 4742, 4750 (production dates 01/95 thru 12/00), 4760, 4770, 4780, 4790, 4820, 4840, 4850, 4860, 4880, 4890, 4892, 4900, 4910, 4920, 4925-2, 4925-6, 4930, 4940, 4943, 4944, 4947, 4948, 4949, 4950, 4958, 4963, 4968, 4969 and 4980. Delta Dropside Cribs
Oct. 21, 2008 - An infant's death has prompted a recall to repair about 600,000 Delta dropside cribs because the drop side can disengage if the spring peg is not engaged, which poses an entrapment and suffocation hazard. If the spring pegs in the base of each leg are pushed back into the lower track, they can become non-functional. This can cause the drop side to detach from the crib, creating a gap. CPSC is aware of one death of an 8-month-old child who suffocated when the drop-side of his crib detached. The recall includes all Delta dropside cribs manufactured prior to 2006 that use the "Crib Trigger Lock with Spring Peg" hardware design. Affected models include 4340, 4343, 4520, 4600, 4620, 4624, 4625, 4629, 4660, 4665, 4720, 4750, 4751, 4850, 4855, 4857, 4880, 4920, 4925-2, 4925-2B, 4925-6, 4980 and 8605. Oct. 16 2008 - About 2,000 Playkids PLK-909 convertible cribs are recalled following the death of a 5-month-old child in Aug. 2008. The child was trapped between the mattress and stationary rail of the crib and suffocated. These cribs have a drop side, a stationary side, a bassinet and a canopy assembly. Oct. 16, 2008 - About 800 My Way baby walkers are recalled because they violate the baby walker safety standard. Sept. 17, 2008 - About 600,000 Simplicity brand drop-side cribs are recalled because a sizing problem with the crib hardware can allow the drop side to come off its tracks. When the drop side detaches or partially detaches, it creates a gap that poses an entrapment and suffocation hazard. The recalled cribs have the following model numbers: 8620, 8745, 8748, 8755, 8756, 8778, 8810 and 8994. A date code, found on a label on the headboard below the mattress support, will end with 05DH, 05GB, 06DH, 06GB, 07DH or 07GB. The toy sets include stacking pots and pans, a lid and shape sorting blocks. Model number G6685 is on the bottom of the blue pan. Oct. 24, 2008 - Carters, Inc. is advising parents and caregivers that they have received reports of a small number of infants developing rashes on the upper back after wearing garments with heat-tranferred (tagless) labels in them. Oct. 21, 2008 - The death of an 8-month-old has prompted the recall to replace missing safety pegs for about 985,000 Delta dropside cribs. When the safety pegs in the base of each leg are missing from the lower track, the crib locks can disengage and detach if lowered below the peg hole, creating a hazardous gap. A child can become entrapped and suffocate in this gap. All Delta cribs manufactured in Taiwan or Indonesia with the "Crib Trigger Lock with Spring Peg" hardware are affected. Oct. 21, 2008 - An infant's death has prompted a recall to repair about 600,000 Delta dropside cribs because the drop side can disengage if the spring peg is not engaged, which poses an entrapment and suffocation hazard. If the spring pegs in the base of each leg are pushed back into the lower track, they can become non-functional. This can cause the drop side to detach from the crib, creating a gap. CPSC is aware of one death of an 8-month-old child who suffocated when the drop-side of his crib detached. The recall includes all Delta dropside cribs manufactured prior to 2006 that use the "Crib Trigger Lock with Spring Peg" hardware design. Affected models include 4340, 4343, 4520, 4600, 4620, 4624, 4625, 4629, 4660, 4665, 4720, 4750, 4751, 4850, 4855, 4857, 4880, 4920, 4925-2, 4925-2B, 4925-6, 4980 and 8605. The toy sets include stacking pots and pans, a lid and shape sorting blocks. Model number G6685 is on the bottom of the blue pan. Baby Appleseed Cribs

Davenport cribs with a model number starting with 273 and manufacture date of August 2007 or earlier are included. These codes are on a label on the right side of the lower inner panel. Aug. 5 2008 - About 1,300 Mother Hubbard's Cupboards cribs are recalled because the distance between the mattress support bracket in its lowest position and the top of the side rail in its highest position is less than the federally required 26 inches, which poses a fall hazard for children who climb over the rail. Enchantment (model #210), Hush a Bye (model #215), Once upon a time (model #320) and Rock a bye (model #1900-350) cribs are recalled. Only date codes from 0306 to 0308 are included.
