Hi guys, wondering if any of you can help me. I had a private gender scan not so long ago and noticed when i went home that it says babies weight is 6 oz... how do they actually measure that? From my app on my phone, at 16 weeks baby should be lighter 3 - 5 oz.

Thanks x

It's just an estimate, so I wouldn't worry. My daughter also weighed a bit above average at her 18 week ultrasound (8oz), but they told me she was perfect. Also consider that normal healthy babies' birthweights vary greatly, so you may just have a slightly above average sized baby in there.

^ agree. Just estimate which can be very off. All grow/gain weight at different rates.

If an average 16 week fetus is 5 oz, why would 6 oz at 17 weeks be heavy?

My son was 10 oz at 19 weeks. I noticed all the apps and stuff vary quite alot n ultrasound measurement isnt spot on
