What is a typical size for a baby that has turned 1 in the UK? I'm I right in thinking its a size 4? I have to measure and get my head around it I know, but my brain is not working at the moment

I would go to clarkes and get measured as you'll need the width as well. My DS was a size 2 when he was one but he's teeny.

I would definitely get them measured as shoe size can vary grratly from child to child! My 11 month old is a 2.5 and my two year old is a 4.5 (her friend who is 12 days older is a size 7!)

Go and get your LO measured. My daughter was a 4 when we got her first shoes at 16 months, but it can vary a lot, including width, so you want to make sure whatever you get fits well.

Mine was measured as 3 on one side and 3.5 on the other, but she is wearing size 4F, soft-soled shoes on the advice of the fitter, and she's doing great with them. It's definitely best to get them professionally measured as for kids (at least in the UK) they measure width as well as length - the 'F' part is the width of her foot. They can also check that your babies' feet are comfortable in their shoes and have room to grow.
