Firstly I dont want a baby shower! The thought of making a list of things to be bought for us makes me cringe! When hubby and I got wed we didn't do a list/registry we asked for people to just come and share a special day.
My SIL wants to throw me a shower and my dad has basically told me to suck it up/stop being miserable as she's started organising it,but i absolutely hate being the centre of attention! when i was 21 the assembly line i worked on sang happy birthday too me causing a panic attack!!
So moaning aside  what do i put on said list? how much is too much £10, £20.

If you don't want one then say no, it's not up to anyone else

I find the idea of writing lists for weddings/showers etc really cheeky tbh, I would much rather people just gave a gift or a voucher and chose it themselves

suzib76 Thats how i feel! i know there was a thread on here asking oppinions on showers and mine was the same as yours.
I feel bad because i read MIL the riot act when she said someone in her family would be wanting to do one for us but im just being miserable!!!
I told SIL how i felt but she said dont be daft it'll just be a small family thing but that still makes me cringe  i'll see if i can wangle out of it!

I see what you are saying but I would much rather know my money was being spent on something that was actually wanted and not risk it being one of seven or eight of the same thing because there was no list.

I agree.

Aslong as you don't put all expensive things on there I don't see the problem- Mama and Papas do one online so people can log in and see whats already been brought and what you want. A packet of sleepsuits costs what- less than £15? I don't think its cheeky to ask people to spend that on a present.

I just think the idea of expecting people to buy you a present is cheeky, not the amount.
