Thought this would be a great place for all of us planning baby showers to discuss everything.

Whoever is planning a baby shower, let me know your dates and how far along you will be and i'll add you to the list.

I'm just starting to plan mine, so can't wait to hear other people's ideas! :flower:

thedailymail: July 11th @ 30 weeks
rainbows_: July 3rd @ 33 weeks
LovingYou: May 15th @ 29 weeks
Miquelsmommy: July 17th
haley09: May 15th @ 37 weeks
Jordans_Mom94: 6th of June @ 38 weeks
mjt11907 May 16th @33+5 weeks

Mine should be...
July 3rd I will be 33 weeks.
It is two weeks before my birthday so figured would be a good time to do it:thumbup:

Aww lovely, have you started planning yet? I'm not to sure how to start!

Not really my mum doesn't know where to start but I know she wants to plan it. I know where I am having it and a rough idea of who is coming, but that is about it :dohh:

I think i'll have mine at my MIL's house, where are you having yours? I don't want people to think it's a gift grabbing thing so i will be telling people not to bring any presents. It will just be a nice time to meet up with all the girls before the LO takes over!

I will be havng at my house, as I live with OH and his mum. But our house is bigger than my mums. Yeah when I told my sister about it she said it's just an excuse to get free stuff! But I practically have everything anyway!
Well cause mine is 2 weeks before my 20th it's a way to see people before LO comes here & then on my birthday it will just be OH taking me for a meal.
Then I have about 4 weeks to relax lol.

Mine is May 15th and i will be 29 weeks. :]

My due date is in auqust ,31 but my babyshower is july, 17th in my backyard. im hopinq its more of a fun party =]

Mine is on May 15th and i will be 37 weeks. It's almost all planned and I got to pick my decorations out but then MIL took over :haha: and it will be at my OH's grandmas house :)

Me and OH's mom just started talking and I went online to look up babyshower decorations and then she ordered them, and I made a list of who i wanted to be there and she added on because she knows a lot of people [and seeing as I only have family and no friends since becoming pregnant ] and we did the invitations together and discussed when we should have it. and now I'm just sitting back and she took over :haha:

My Mom is planning mine on the 6th of june ill be 38 weeks
&&
OH's Mom is planning one too just not sure of the date yet.

I want a baby shower - not for gifts or anything - just to purely see my friends again before LO is here. Plus it would be a nice way for me to relax after uni exams and before baby comes. And they'd have finished their school exams and such.

However, I don't know how to go about planning one, who to invite, what food to have, how long for it too last, what games etc to do.
I'm just so lost :(

I'm not planning mine- my sis in law and my mom are.

but i got to make the list of people who to invite like my friends. i invited 14 people, and my mom and sis in law are inviting some people too.

Food- we are ordering sandwiches and wraps, some grapes and cheese/ fruit platters, some small snacks like chips and dip. And then of course the cake :) i have a couple vegetarian friends, so simple foods like fruits and veggies and tuna wraps are great.

Games- They are just doing a couple games like guess how big my belly is by cutting string, and then we go around and everyone see's if they were right, plus there will be a glass jar where everyone can write a little note on a piece of paper for me like good luck wishes and then put them in the jar so i can read them all before LO is due.

How long- On the invitation we wrote from 1-3, because the room we rented has to be emptied out by 4, but it should be around 2 1/2 hours long which is plenty of time.

TIP! Don't send invites out more than 4-5 weeks before, because people will RSVP and then forget to come :[ we sent mine out 4 weeks before, and will send a facebook reminder the week of the baby shower.

Awww loving you thanks :)
That helped me quite a bit.

Id really like to have one it seems like a nice idea too see friends before the big day. Because I know for a while after it I'll be too exhausted to have a lot of people bar family round and will be going between my house and OHs house alternative weeks. So I won't get much time to see people

no problem :)

i know, i wanted to have mine before i got too big and uncomfortable to be decorating the nursery, and moving around a ton of stuff. and after LO is born, i won't have time either.
I can't wait to see my friends, because honestly i really never see them, so it will be great to just spend time with everyone!
I'm sure it will be great if you decide to have one, they are so much fun :]

I've had mine, was an awesome event.

Just thought I'd tell you guys as we did mine rather differently from most people!

I have only ever been to one baby shower, and it put me off. Just my personal opinion, but I could think of many things I'd rather do than sit around playing games.

I also wanted my OH there, I don't see why the guys have to miss out on the celebration of their child's life.........so

I got a whole group of people together, people were welcome to bring partners/kids. We all got together for lunch at the local pub, and everyone just socialized. It was an awesome afternoon, it was a great chance also for my extended family to get together with Andrews.

All I had to do was send out a few texts and order the food.......no cooking....no cleaning....it was so easy!

Everyone who came said they really enjoyed it, and I had alot of people say that the only reason they came was because it wasn't the 'traditional' style
