My Lo will be five months by 11 march and so far he has shown no interest in solids.Should I be worried.I hear on here 17 weeks olds eating etc...Are we doing something wrong.

No, you are fine. My daughter wasn't remotely interested until about a week before she turned six months, then suddenly she was. Your baby is still getting everything he needs from milk at this age.

As a bonus, if you wait until six months you can go right to soft finger foods if you prefer, which I always found much easier than purees.

In the UK they encourage you to wait until 6 months, with 17 weeks being the absolute earliest.

No, definitely nothing wrong. Baby 'being interested' is so much open to interpretation and really doesn't mean LO is ready for solids anyway. I'm not even sure what would be counted as being interested (besides picking it up and eating food him/herself) - watching people eating? In that case, my LO is really interested in driving and also in cooking. If people mean that LO copies chewing actions, my oldest LO is really interested in being a nursery school teacher... it all means nothing about what LO is actually capable of doing :D

Remember too that there is a massive difference between LO eating and LO being fed.

Nope, most recommendations are to not start solids until 6 months anyway. At 5 months, my daughter had no interest in food other than the fact it was sometimes in front of her while I was eating and she might pick it up (just like she might pick up anything in her reach, but wasn't because she was 'hungry'). In fact, even after we started to offer her food at 6 months (finger foods), she didn't really show much interest or eat much more than a small bite until probably 7 months. Now at 13 months, she has a great appetite and loves her food, but I think it's in part because we didn't push it on her or stress about it. Personally, I'd not worry about it for another month or so and then see what she does.

17 weeks is the absolute minimum and most weaning guidelines state that it's preferable to hold off on solids until 6 months.

My LO didn't eat anything until she was about 8 months old. Their nutritional intake should come mainly from milk until they're 1, so your LO has PLENTY of time to become interested in solids.
