Hi ladies,
9 months ... 4 false alarms and one hellova 20 min drive to the hospital (whilst I was contracting every 4 mins for 50 secs to a min ) at 9 am on a Monday morning and before I forget ( me wanting to push in the car) baby akanksha is finally here.

Now for the lowdown.... My other half went to drop our daughter at school and got home at 8:30. I was in a lil pain but because we were at the hospital the previous day after my waters broke. They sent us home then and i thought this was another falsie. I didn tak this seriously and sat down for a cuppa and then 10 mins later I am in the shower screaming the place down ... AT this point we kinda realised that we had to make our way to the hospital as I could barely stand and it was basically one long contraction.

Drive to the hospital was about 25 mins and i kept telling my mum and OH that i had to push. Thought we weren't going to make it in time. Got to the hospital at half 9 ... Not sure why but I walked into triage rather than go to the birthing unit ... Anyway they assessed and sent me off to have my baby ... Didn't have a birth plan (haven't seen my midwife once, not sure why exactly) but I did know that I wanted gas and air. At about 11:15 I finally saw my lil one..... I did scream the place down, told the midwives (who were both amazing) that i wanted a c-section and then to just pull her out (not really sure if i was joking or not, entanox makes it a bit hazy) and had a second degree tear but all worth it.

25th of feb .... 11:15 am weighing 7.15 lbs akanksha made her debut entrance.

Got discharged the same day, which was great. Now at home and really happy, if a bit sleep deprived and sore.
