My LO appears to be cold in her moses basket as she wakes up almost as soon as we put her in there even tho she was in a deep sleep prior to that.

If I then allow her in the bed straight away then she falls asleep.
In her moses basket she has a blanket (the crotchet type) up to the chin & a fleece over that , halfway to waist.

Should I get a duvet of somesort? Can I get 1 from mothercare?

Wouldn't recommend a duvet. If it was a bit chilly we used to put a hot water bottle in there for a while first, take it out and then put her to bed and it used to warm everything up. Have you tried swaddling also? That way her hands and feet will be warm and her body as its only her face that will be sticking out. Might be worth a try!

hmm hot water bottle sounds like a good idea....

what is swaddling by the way....?

Thats some info about swaddeling, have you thought about a sleeping bag?
That way the LO doesn't lose all the heat from you when you put them in there moses basket x

hmm 2 very great ideas!
Thanks girls..

So we're thinking the duvet is a no no..?

no you shouldnt give a baby a duvet untill its 2/3 incase it gets stuck under it.

We use a heating pad to warm Hannah's crib up before we put her in (does the same thing as a hot water bottle would) and it's really helped!
