LO is extremely windy on SMA gold. I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced this. She is pooing okay though.

SMA has a reputation for being harder to digest than other formulas, so it could cause excess wind. Equally, some babies are extremely windy regardless of what they're fed!

If that's the only problem, I wouldn't be concerned.

my lo is 7 wks old and is on sma gold he too is very windy and is also extramly sicky but according to doc its normal must be sma

My son is on Sma gold and I have never had a problem with it :)

Omg, I was going to ask the same thing. My lo has such a trumpy bottom & she is on sma gold. Will she be uncomfortable or is it better out than in, as they say!!! :haha:

hi i wud defo say its better out than in and i wud also say if u r using sma gold wind lo a bit moe often my little one can av up to 7 burps on a 5 oz bottle x :happydance:

My LO is on SMA gold too and is very windy and sicky thinking of changing formula!

I thought of that too Nessicle. My LO is normally sick a mouth full on most burps and never stops farting. They even seem louder than an adults.

SMA is quite well known for being harder to digest I think. My eldest struggled with it, so I changed to C&G. My youngest went straight onto Cow & Gate, and never had a problem. I would definately change it if they seem uncomfortable, because it cant be nice for them x

Changed to Aptamil today and no sick or crying spells with tons of wind Sontag and she's slept really well!

Ive been using the SMA cartons the last few days & she not half as windy as when she is on the powder, strange!

Interesting about the aptimal nessicle :)

very interesting about the aptimal... I may have to try that one too or maybe cow & gate

she still has wind and crying spells but its not as bad as with SMA, I might try the comfort milk though as shes still getting belly aches

How are you getting on? Did you switch to the comfort? I'm trying my lo on aptimal from today :flower:

yep we switched to aptamil comfort milk 3 days ago and although shes still getting colicky spells its getting better apparently it can take a few days to a week t get into their system properly x
