Does anyone have experience with and infant with a swollen stomach? I went to the pediatrician today and the doctor took an x-ray to make sure that there weren't any issues with my baby and the radiologist called back and said the x-ray showed excess gas in the large and small intestine.

So, what can I do to relieve his gas besides burping him often, tummy time, and give him gripe water? He is not in any discomfort that I am aware of. He has normal dirty diapers and eats well and even passes gas often. So, I do not understand why he has excess gas.

Thank you in advance for your input!

One more thing.......his stomach has been like this for about 4 days and I have started drinking coffee after not drinking it for a year about a week ago. Can this be bothering him? I am going to stop drinking coffee all together.

Have you tried baby massage? If you look on youtube you'll find loads of tutorials. My little boy gets terrible trapped wind and it's the only thing that will help. I have to bring his knees up to his chest in a way that parts his bum cheeks to make pumping easier.
If he's not in any discomfort I wouldn't worry about it. It's quite normal for babies to be gassy.

We used gas drops with both of our kids and it seemed to help a lot.

Does he make clicking noises while he feeds?

No, he doesn't. Seems that his stomach has gone down some since 2 days ago. I burp him all times of the day and I have been doing the leg exercises and baby massage. Seems to be helping. I think he is just a very gassy baby!
