Strange title but didn't know what to call thread.
My lo has mild cp, epilepsy ( daily mild seizures at no) and horrible reflux
He needs lots of little things done for him to help and manage them
I'm sure you can all identify. ;-)

My qs is do u let others mind lo?
I don't but sometimes would love to just for an hour or 2
But I feel I care for him and know him best.
I feel it would unfair to him
But not sure am I bring silly insisting I have to or sensible?
My mom has12 kids and she knows him well
But has said she would be too nervous to mind him
She isn't a dramatic person. Just honest ;-)

Just wondering what others do.

Hello my son doesn't have severe medical issues like your son and honestly I would be worried about having someone watching him but you deserve a break too. Please check with your HV there may be a disability nursery or play group that you can take your LO too (most start at 6 months). My son just started one for 6 months up and the nursery nurses look after him for 2 hours whilst I get a chance to relax and chat to other mums in the room next door. You will still be on hand just in case but you'll get a little break.

As for your mum it might help for her to be around more especially during seizures so she can learn how to deal with them. It will build her confidence but I understand if she still wouldn't want to do it.

There is a baby group thing near ish to me
Maybe we might go to that.
I'd be way too nervous to actually let him with someone
But sometimes would love to for a wee bit ;-)
Ur nursery sounds great.
I'm not sure anything like that here though.
I'm in countryside and not great facilities around
I have to leave him on 26 for a few hrs.
Doin a course to help him with speech in his treatment centre
But I'm not allowed bring him
I'm dreading leaving him
Il be worried all the time
He will be with his dad but his dad doesn't recognise his seizures a lot of the time
They r pretty subtle now thanks to meds
But he still needs rescue meds after 20 mins if long seizure.
My.Mom has epilepsy herself.
She isn't scared of his epilepsy but she knows he has a certain way of feeding etc for reflux
And would def be scared to give rescue meds. ;-)

Most days I'm fine
Just hard at mo cos he is on near total food strike.
