Ive been wanting one of these style slings for a while but this is LOADS cheaper than the ones ive seen.... Do you think its any good??

Thanks :hugs:

Thanks, i cant believe how cheap it is compared to the others ive looked at which are about £40-50 xx

If i choose to wear my kids (I think I will at least try it out) I want to try one like this.

I like side slings like this. They are easy to use. I found that Brenn didn't like it when he was tiny, but once he could 'sit' up on my hip, I have used one. Tbh, they are super easy to sew, and should not cost very much to make.

I like long material wraps, like the moby wrap, just because you can use them a zillion ways.

I have one similar, I ordered it from this seller: https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/FREEDOM-SLIN...14&_trkparms=72:1683|66:2|65:12|39:1|240:1308

It's brilliant! I can carry Kai around, breast feed him and rock him to sleep all with my hands free!

I'm waiting on my freedom ring sling to arrive..I cannot flipping WAIT!!:happydance:

I think i will order one of the roobaby ones i posted, its like the freedom one that youre all saying about and it seems highly recommended x

Looks nice and comfy. I have not tried that sling, but it looks like something I would wear.

I should have got one of these. :( I got a baby carrier one instead of a sling. Darn! They look so snug for baby. And look extremely comfy for you. :)

Its not too late you could always get one!!! x

I personally wouldn't get it. I've found that wearing my ring sling really hurts my back after I've had it on for a bit. Think it's because the weight isn't that evenly distributed. Also with that RooBaby you've got no way of adjusting it as your baby grows so it'll just stretch and hang lower won't it?

I've found the Moby wrap really comfortable because it distributes the weight across your whole back (I've forgotten he's there sometimes when out shopping / walking!!!), it's a bit of a faff to wrap & tie it though so I've ordered a Close Baby Carrier today to wear when I'm going to be popping him out for periods of time / when we're just going in a shop or something so I'm not stuck wearing the Moby for hours without him in it.

I'd recommend going to a Sling Meet and trying a few different types out - you can find your local one here - www.slingmeet.co.uk if you're interested :)

I love babywearing!!! Good luck with it whichever you go with.

Thanks for the link elm its really good.
Im confused now about what to get.... i liked the idea of the simplicity of the roobaby and because im really little, im only 5ft tall and a petite size 8 frame i thought one of the wraps would drown me!!!
The moby does look so great but i just think it would be far too comlicated for me.... how easy is it to use???? x

I managed to wrap the moby from watching online videos but Elliot went a bit red when I put him in the first time (he was probably just hot!) and it freaked me out a bit but after I'd been to the sling meet and was given a demonstration and had my wrap checked I was loads more confident with it and it's not difficult to wrap anymore and I'm getting quicker but like when I go to mother & baby group it means wrapping at home then either being stuck wearing it the whole time I'm out (not necessarily with him in it all the time) or wrapping it again while out and I think I'd be terrible wrapping with an audience.

I haven't tried the Close one yet but it seems loads simpler, it's got rings to adjust the material so you don't have to worry about wrapping and all the complicated stuff. They are more expensive (I got mine for £43.15 inc p&p) but they seem to have a high resale value - I bid on one on Ebay that was second hand and went for £35 + £5 p&p.

www.thebabywearer.com is a great site too but there's so much info on there it can be a bit overwhelming I've found!!!

https://www.wearyourbaby.com/Default.aspx?tabid=121 there are instructions on how to make your own wrap here - all you need is the right material and some scissors, keep meaning to get some and have a go myself.

Having said all that I haven't ever tried a RooBaby so I don't really know what it'll be like I'm just guessing it wouldn't be for me and it does depend what you want it for as well. I've not got a pushchair so need one for carrying for lengthy amounts of time.

:hugs: x

I have a moby too and thats brill. I just love them all haha

Hmmm i cant seem to find any sling meets near me so i think i might order the roobaby then if i dont get on with it its not a fortune that ive spent!!

Sounds like a good idea - hope it works really well for you, you can always expand your collection later (I've got six so far! :) )
