Hi all, I'm back after 4 years away from TTC. I have one completely blocked tube and the other is partially blocked so will be making an appointment with the Dr to get my referral to the FS. Looking for buddies to get me through, TTC last time was a horrendous experience so I think I'll need the support.

Hi kitcat, welcome back! I'm sorry your journey has been so complicated. Fx that the FS can make it happen! If I may ask, what has caused your blockages? Will offer you as much support as I can as you go down this road 💐

Hi Aphy! Thanks for your reply. I'm terrified to be on this road again. Not a good experience last time. My blockages were caused by PID, which I got following an undiagnosed pelvic infection. I believe my ex gave me an STD, but I never had symptoms until I was having horrendous pain and was unable to conceive. Had a lap back in 2012 and FS diagnosed me with past PID and blocked tubes. TTC for over a year back then and haven't used BC for about 5/6 years. Never even a sign of a pregnancy so I'm sure it's going to be a tough road ahead. Tell me about you. Have you been TTC long? x

I can see now why you say it might not be an easy road ahead. I'm glad to hear you haven't given up though! What sort of treatment have they all tried to help you ttc?

As for me,been ttc since Nov 2015. Diagnosed with pcos in July and started with clomid for the first time this past cycle. Since AF started today I just found out it didn't work. Will see obgyn sometime this week to hear if I stay on current dosage or have to double it. I have potential blockage as well due to scar tissue from various operations I had a few years a go but obgyn doesn't want to do the test for it yet until 6 months of clomid has failed which frustrates me no end!

Do you temp at all or are you taking anything to help fertility along?

Actually, a few months after my lap, the month I was due to start on clomid, I discovered that my ex had been cheating so I obviously left him and stopped TTC before starting the clomid. I'm currently in a bit of a predicament about the clomid as I've still got it in my drawer, and am wondering if I should just use it now to see if it will work. Only problem is that I'm no longer under a FS so would be unmonitored and the clomid is expired by a year. Just hate that I will be waiting ages for a referral to the FS who will just give me what I already have sitting in the cupboard. Just don't know what to do about it really.
Sounds like you've had a tough time too. I have some friends with PCOS who found it tough TTC but they both have children, so don't give up hope x

Thanks! Trying to keep positive

Quite frankly I feel like my cloud cycle has pretty much been unmonitored anyway. All I had to do was go for cd21 bloods for which he didn't even call me with results. Don't know risk with the tablets having been expired though. Maybe ask a pharmacist?

Do you plan to continue with the clomid then? How did you find it when taking it? Side effects? I think your idea to ask a pharmacist is a good one, I think I'll try it.

I'm going to keep taking it for the next 5 cycles as obgyn recommended. As for side effects,it wasn't the greatest experience. You only get the side effects around O (which sucks since hats when you have to BD etc). It made me bloated and crampy and I experienced severe shortness of breath (felt almost like a permanent asthma attack that lasted for 2 whole days). He also said I had to start temping which I did and from the temps it looks like it did make me O at least (hope he agrees when I see him). you just shouldn't take clomid for longer than 6 months though cause it thins your lining apparently

Oh really?? That's good to know. I was a bit confused to be prescribed clomid in the first place, as I have really regular periods so I assume I already O on my own. I suppose it's just a case of getting back on the the FS and see what they say. Just hate waiting! I wish you all the luck in the world with your next cycle, I hope it's the one that works for you x

Thanks Kitcat. I also though that I O'd on my own until blood work showed that I didn't O the cycle he had me test. Maybe it would be best then to see the FS so they can see if you even need clomid or not?

I know you're right, I should wait. It's just such a long referral time. And I'm impatient haha! Keep me posted how you get on with the clomid and thanks for the warm welcome x
