Ok, so starting last night, my back started hurting. I thought okay, I'll just go to bed and when I wake up in the morning it'll be better like usual. NOPE! My middle back is so achy I can't hardly stand walking or moving much, and I have sciatica in my right hip that radiates down to my knee when I take a step.

Is there anything that I can do here at home to help it? I can't afford a chiropractor or masseuse. I don't have a bath tub, we have shower only. :(

I've suffered with lower middle back pain and I used to go to bed thinking sleep would heal me but no I'd wake up and the throbbing would be more intense. Against my own will I started swimming I go early mornings so no one sees me (bit self concious) it certainly hasn't healed me but the it really really helps I also brought an exercise ball to sit on and bounce and roll my hips round. I do my ironing whilst bouncing up and down on it sure my neighbours wondered what I'm up to. Its worth a try anyway, you might find your own remedies/soothers whilst trying everyone else's. Hope you don't suffer too much :)

Ignore the swimming idea unless you have a pool at home lol

I'd try a heat pad or a cool pack. I like heat on my back when it hurts and love those ones that you stick onto your clothes (never directly on your skin). I love that they stay on all day doing there thing. I have a bad back anyway and am experiencing new back pain so I'm in the process of seeing a chiropractor so I'm hoping that will help keep things at bay.
Definitely try the heat pad if you can't afford a chiro.

I'm another with terrible back pain. I had a week off work and it got better, now I've been back at work a week and its back with a vengeance, I think our company has terrible chairs!

My midwife told me to avoid heat pads during pregnancy as it can make the baby too hot, not sure if thats really true but I've avoided them any way.

Thank you for the advice! I don't have a pool at home, but my brother in law has one, and I may start going over there and swimming. My mother in law has a big exercise ball that I can go over to their house and use. I hope between those two things, that it will get better. Thank you again!!
