I hope it's ok that I've also posted this in the Second Tri forum.

I know there are some older threads on this but thoughts I'd bring it up for some more recent feedback!

I'm so scared :(

On Friday I went to the dr because all of a sudden I had some watery discharge, and I panicked as I thought it might have been amnionic fluid. My dr said my cervix was long and closed, baby had a heartbeat, and amnionic fluid levels were normal. Dr said it could have been a small leak, but everything looked fine and it could also have been just a variation of discharge, or even urine. He did a pap smear, and Saturday morning the dr office called me to tell me I have BV and I was prescribed a week of oral clindamycin.

I had a normal pap smear (and normal urine test) on Aug 22, so that means I've potentially had this for nearly a month! I've had a milky yellow discharge for a few weeks without any pain/itching/odor, but as this is my first pregnancy I thought, '...oh, this must just be normal increased discharge due to pregnancy...,' and have had bladder and lower abdomen pressure that I attributed to normal pregnancy pains. Duh.

I couldn't help myself and started googling BV. Of course all I read was doom and gloom. And, now I'm a mental basketcase.

I am trying to reassure myself that if my dr was concerned he'd have admitted me to the hospital as opposed to just prescribing me antibiotics (he is very understanding of what a worrywort I am!).

My next appointment is next Friday for my 20 week scan. Naturally I'll speak to my dr about my obsessive worrying over BV then, and have another pap to see if it's cleared.

Any of you ladies have some BV success stories to help calm me down?

Thanks!

I had bv the start of this pregnancy and I'm fine! The tablets are horrible though,
I suggest holding your nose...

I also had bv on and off for about 2 month I this pregnancy. All is well so far

whenever im pregnant i get that and yeast infections all the time...as long as you get treated all should be fine
