Tyler has been doing this lately when he's had enough playing on the floor he will bang his head on either the wall or tv cabinet (not hard)but enough to make noise and repeatively do it then cry its really strange he does it then looks at me then shuts his eyes and does it again:dohh: little bugger why would he do it for and does anyone elses LO do os did this?

My younger cousin used to do strange things like that too! I can't remember why, his mother ended up taking him to a behavioural specialist because he used to do it hard and she was scared he would hurt himself. I think it was mostly because he just wanted attention. Maybe try ignoring it (while making sure he doesn't hurt himself) and not running and telling him to stop when he does it? Maybe he'll get over it.

Dec does this but only when he is not getting his own way, he will sit on the floor throw himself back and bang his head!!!! I thought it was a phase because Dan did it to.

My son done this at toddler stage, very bad tantrums. He'd do it to make himself cry because he had nothing to cry about.

My nephew used to do this when he wanted attention. He had bruises all over his forehead. He stopped doing in a couple of weeks though.

okay i feel a bit better now that others have experienced it too thanks girls 4 u girls that have LOs that do it What do when LO does it ? Ignore them or what?

My lad used to do this when he wasn't getting his own way, I'm sure he'll stop soon enough, You could try ignoring ,distraction or just don't say any thing and pull him away from wall x

my OH apparently did this in his cot when he was a baby. I do not know much more, as he was told by his mother and he told me. but obviously it is nothing to worry about. sorry, can't advice on what to do though :baby:

Kaya's doing this atm I think she's just learning - it's a new sensation. I usually don't really react much.

Oliver has just started to do this! He mainly does it when he'sn tired though. My little brother used to do it aswell. He would do it on the floor, the wall, his cot, radiator-anything he could bang his head on and he would scream the place down. Luckilly it was just an attention seeking thing and it was just a phase he soon grew out of. We found it best not to react too much-and he would stop. x

We dont react when Dec is doing it, he does get annoyed when no one is looking but he stops eventually, when Dan is about he laughs at him and that seems to calm him when he sees Dan laughing he will stop and laugh along!!! lol dont know if that is a good thing or a bad thing  but it stops him.
