It's probably too late to post my birth story as Bea in ten months old but I want to see if anyone else had the same experience:
I was due to be induced at exactly 41 weeks but thankfully started naturally the day before! Went in to hosp about 9pm,finally examined(after they'd re written noted from one book to the next!) I was about 4cm dilated,my waters were 'bulging' but babies head had gone back up. Decided I should stay in in case my waters went, moved over to mat ward about 12 midnight, thankfully put in my own room! Hubby went home,I tried to sleep, kept needing to wee but didn't register! Then by about 1am I was in quite a lot of pain, didn't want to buzz&be a pain! Eventually did, asked for pain relief so mw examined me&I was fully dilated!
Hubby called,bk over to delivery-had waters broken,by about 6.45am I wanted epi,by the time it was done, said 30 mins to work-too late! I had to push!! Mw quite patronising, saying 'if you want to,have a little try'!! Grr
Head out-ring of fire! Then mw said heart rate of Babba had dropped, she had a knot in her cord....had to get her out ASAP so was cut and there she was! All 8lb 13oz of perfection!
Hubby pops out to ring parents,he said the alarm went off, rushedbk in and there was blood everywhere,I was quite out of it watching them with baby, ten mins later told I need to go to theatre as a blood vessel had been nicked. I ended up losing 4 litres of blood and having 5 blood transfusions.
Finally home two days later,mw came for second visit&Bea had lost more than the 10% weight allowed so then spent a very scary 3 nights in special care&childrens ward. Basically because I had lost SO much blood my milk never came and poor Bea was starving-very quickly decided to put her on the bortle&never looked back. She also had an infection in her cord that wasn't picked up,thankfully a family friend is nursery nurse on mat ward and picked it up
The most annoying thing is that the night after she was born mw said she was a little dehydrated so I asked if I should give a bottle am&pm to top up but was told no!
