hiya. my son as regular feeds about 3hours apart but throws the hole feed up sometimes. i burp him which he burps quiet alot but stills throws up all the milk on some feeds. its really horrible to see cos after he looks so sad. am i doing something rong? hes just over 3weeks. x

Could be reflux hun. Did u have a talk with ur HV/Dr about it?

well i told hv on friday when she came round but she said its normal. but i dont think its normal to throw a hole feed up. but im a 1st timer so i dno really. hv coming 2mrw but she makes me feel silly xx

Some HV are like that, dont let her make you feel silly. Ask again as the whole feed shouldnt come up.
Sometimes it does look like alot when it isnt though. Hope you get on ok today. :flower:

My lo used to do this, even ended up in a and e he was choking on his sick :( in hospital they diagnosed him with reflux, tried him on gaviscon which didn't really help! He's now on SMA staydown milk, he's like a different baby. I'd mention it to your gp if your hv won't do anything, I know how upsetting it is to see even though it doesn't seem to bother him xx

My LO will chuck up a whole feed very occasionally - like every few weeks or so but I'd say if he's doing it any more than that than it could indeed be reflux. Don't worry what the HV says- you know your baby best. You can always bypass her and go and see your GP directly X

i got told not to change milk:wacko:. well hv been i told her about it and she just said its normal and that just to sit him up for longer and burp him longer. which i already do alot of. but its not after a feed sometimes its during a feed that the hole bottle will come up sometimes its after. id say recently hes doing it alot. yesterday he did it twice. it looks really bad. i told hv that its the hole bottle and all she said was it might look like the hole bottle but itl only be abit. im not stupid i can see if its a little bit or not. which i know its not a little bit:growlmad:

my son was like this and he had a milk allergy, its horrid to watch a child go through it, we had to get milk from the doctors in the end maybe worth talkin to the doctor see if they can advise but i do feel for you

I would take him to the doctor. It could be reflux. My LO was like that from the day he was born. We left it until he was 6 weeks as we were told it was normal but I knew it wasn't right. Weve been to see a pediatrician and now have him on Aptamil milk (Pediatrician told us it was easiest for babies to digest), Carobel the thicken the milk and Ranitidine for the acid and so far so good. Carobel has been a godsend for us!

We had to change formula when it started to happen at 3 wks. We went for anti reflux/ stay down formula & it made a big difr. It worth a try. I hate it when Drs tell u "they will grow out of it" & expecting u to just wait until it happens. I had to go to a private pediatrician & pay alot to finally get proper answer for Omar's reflux.

Yup.. My LO does this too, has done since birth but I've been told that as she's still gaining weight then nothing will be done about it! Very annoying as I'm 99% sure it's reflux - changed milk, teats, bottles, winded for aaaaggggeeesss etc... - but noone will listen! I hope you get some good results with the doctor as HVs don't know what they're talking about most of the time (In my experience anyway!)

xx

My daughter was like this so we switched to sma staydown
