My 3wk old is having aptimil but we're not getting on very well. She's awake all morning with a really distended tummy, crying lots, goes to sleep in the afternoon and trumps away like nothing I've known!! It can't be comfortable for her :( Can anyone advise a formula or additives that may help? Thank you.

We had the same problems on aptimal so switched to C&G comfort. It seems a bit better along with using infacol.

Try a comfort milk. Colief can be good too but it's super expensive - if it works get it on prescription. Infacol can be fab at getting wind up so long as you don't have a sicky baby. With Hadley we found it just made her reflux worse. All worth a try though.

You could also try cycling her legs (like she's on a bike) and rubbing her tummy. We used to find these helpful.

^^^ Colief, works a treat on those symptoms. It's £11.49 (i think) for one bottle tho it lasts a while. Our doc gives it to us on prescription... Also try Dr Brown's bottles. Again, expensive but we found them v helpful.

It's the prebiotics in aptamil that can cause issues for a lot of babies. SMA is usually better for those babies who struggle with aptamil. I found comfort made wind 10x worse

We've just recently switch to c & g comfort and my LO is like a different baby, no more screaming in pain, not sick anywhere near as much and generally happier. We're using infacol too. It's helped his bowel movements become more regular too :)

Aw I have this problem my little man no longer gets added through the night he is 14 wks old but he farts and moans all night it's so tiring getting up for hours putting his dummy in cycling his legs and trying to wind him... He's on aptamil tried the comfort but he was bringing up water, we use colief gaviscon and infacol as he has reflux I don't kno wot will help him. X
