so leyley is breastfed but sometimes she gets really stressed out when shes hungry cos she cant find my nipple, i thought it might be an idea to give her one feed of formula at night so she doesnt do the stress thing and therefore be up all night hehe

i was wondering what people thought was the best formula for a newborn usually breastfed baby

thanks :)

I have heard that Aptamil is the most closely like breast milk . x

maddi has always great on aptami, supposed to be the closest to breastmilk

oh thats good, ok i'll get some of that then, is there a certain one u have to get, or is it just like no. 1 or something?

Yep although no personnel experience, i have heard alot of people agree with the above x

i agree , apatimil so far as been brill for me. Even though i think mine needs the one forn hungry baby .lol

i use aptimal for Rhys but i was reading the back of cow and gate box and the ingredients are exactly the same but aptimal is more expensive by £1. i'm thinking of swapping over to cow and gate now as i think they are pretty much all the same they must be. how can aptimal be closest to booby milk i dont know how it can surely its like saying tea is closest to coffee cos its made with water milk and sugar lol.

well i ended up getting a few packs of the ready made stuff, just to see if she likes it, i presume it tastes the same as the stuff in the box? i didnt wanna pay £8 for something that she might not like...so bought two little cartons for £1 instead lol and we'll see if she takes to it

helen1234, your right in a way, I think that it is an average of the nutrients from breastmilk matched with the formula. But breastfeeding is influenced by what you eat so it will be different for everyone.

thats what i thought, the only differance between aptamil and c&g was it says contains immunofortis but the ingredients were exactly the same on the box riht down to the calorie.

i'm going to try him on a ready made for a few days see how he is, i'm not paying more when i dont have to, i get it in hy head that more expensive means better quality but thats not always true..

all the milks are the same. i was using farleys until it changed name and doubled in price so swaped to cow & gate as that one was cheapest

My little one was born 13 week early and all the premature babies are only fed on breast milk and aptimil. They swear by it.

We used aptamil - I made the choice to use it and as she has special needs and was in hospital until she was 8 weeks it was also recommended by the nurses on the ward where she stayed. I don't regret it at all, she's always done brilliantly on it and is now on aptamil 3. Good luck hun xx
