Now we've started weaning properly, I'd like a portable highchair to take to other people's houses or to cafes and restaurants that don't already have them. I've seen the cloth things that you tie on to ordinary chairs, but as we're doing BLW she needs to be able to reach the table or have a tray. Any suggestions?

The only portable ones I have seen with trays are not really portable at all -they are huge and you couldn't fit it under the buggy - so not really suitable for taking around.
I have a material chair harness and I just offer the plate to her , she takes what she wants..

Are they any good the cloth harness chairs I was thinking of buying one not sure what they are like. :flower:

they are fine once the baby can sit up well - not necessarily unaided though as obviously the harness stops them falling.

I got mine off ebay - its not the same as some I have seen, I preferred this design, it goes under their bottom and velcros around their waist, then velcros around the back of the chair, was £12

The Chicco Caddy Travel chair... LOVE it. We BLW and I take it to exactly the places you are talking about all the time. It is a must have in my book! It is super portable, lightweight, and folds flat. The bars you use to secure it are highly adjustable so it fits on all thicknesses of tables. I use it where chairs sit and have used it in booths, too. It has been awesome!

I love the look of that one! It would make her seem like she's joining in with the meal more I think. I'll have to find a UK supplier now!

I've been looking for one too, have you seen the phil and ted range?? They look good!!

I've got the Phil and Ted's Wriggle Wrapper which is very like the one in Lisa's picture.

It's ok but I tend to have her strapped to me on my lap rather than onto another chair, as she's so low down and I find it's very difficult to get her sitting properly upright in it that way.

I like the look of the Chicco one.

On looking I don't think they sell the phil and ted "eating" range in the uk  shame as it was very similar to one the one Tigerlady recommends. I will be watching this thread with interest to see if anyone recommends anything else

mum2b_claire, where did you get your phil and ted one from? On their website they have two that look like the chicco ones ("lobster" and "metoo").

Oh thats a good idea, I hadnt considered the hook on ones!

Not sure if its the same as yours, TigerLady, so unsure how well it folds, but they are on ebay https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BRAND-NEW-CH...ng_Highchairs_Boosters_LE?hash=item19b93370a0

I was looking at the totseat range https://www.totseat.com/

That one from Ebay looks exactly like mine, with just a bigger back on it.

I also really like that it gets him right up to the table with us so he is fully involved, but doesn't have to be on one of our laps. :)

The only word of warning... it is very easy for them to drop things on the floor with this chair. So, I usually have a bit of a mess to clean up. :dohh: The joys of BLW!

I use this one and find it really good. Comes with its only little bag and even has a carry handle.

I have one similar to this - I find it great going to grannies and out and about.

I have a cloth one and it's worked really well, I've just taken it to Ireland and back with me :D Only thing is she needs something under her bum so she can reach the table but I've found that a couple of folded bath towels do the trick.
