As my oh works for sainsburys and I work for mothercare we're trying to get advice on where to get our nappies from (use his staff discount or mine!). Had quite a few peeps tell us that sainsburys own brand ones are really good. Don't mind paying for pampers or huggies, but I am not planning on going back to work and my oh earns considerably less than me, so trying to save where we can.

i havent tried either of those brands so probably not much help lol but i found the best supermarket brand nappies were tesco ones and the very worst ones were boots and i cannot even express how bad they are! i have heard that sainsbury ones are pretty good though so worth a try x

I've just bought some sainsburys ones but I'm yet to try them.

With my first I always used tescos and 2nd I always used asda's. Think its just trail and error, no harm in trying out different brands to see which suits.

I've only ever tried the asda ones, which were pretty good, but not quite the same as pampers (I've heard they are made by the same people).

My advice would be try a few when LO arrives. I had quite a few huggies that I had bought cos they were cheap/freebies with them etc but found they leaked so bad that I just couldn't use them - ended up giving them to my friend to try with her LO but she had similar trouble.

We used pampers at the beginning with my son but they ended up being too expensive, we then used asda or Tesca, much prefered tesco ones so will be using them this time around x

I agree I haven't tried them for many years now but last time I did the boots ones were horrendous

I have huggies as they were always the best I have used on other children, also have some pampers, but I have been recommended aldis, as they are good and cheap too, £1.79 for a pack of size 1 newborn and i think there's 27 in them!

I've heard aldi's are meant to be good too, I've got 3 boxes of pampers at the mo from getting them when on offer but when we run low I will be trying aldi

We used pampers and moved to tesco. Much prefer tescos to be honest. Never got on with huggies here. Not used sainsburys, but I've not heard anything bad. Aldi's nappies apparently are huggies, just rebranded. Their wipes aren't though, fom what I can tell. Lidl's nappies get massively good reviews too.

We use pampers most the time but now my DD is older we use Tesco brand allot more.
I agree with what someone above said it really is trial and error with nappies, some nappies suit children differently, i've always had a bad experience with Huggies but then some people say they are great.

I heard Aldi's were good, and if you sign up for Emma's diary, in the free pack they give you there's a voucher for 50% off wipes and newborn nappies, I got a pack of wipes and a pack of 27 nappies for £1.24 using my voucher!

we found it varied by size - tesco and asda were best for size 1 and 2 but we've been using huggies since size 3-but as some of the PP have said, while some of us swear by huggies, others hate them - depends on the shape of your baby. But i NEVER pay full price for nappies! we tend to shop at tesco and they resonably frequently have a "baby event" where the large economy packs are half price (£4.99 instead of £9.99) so we just stock up then with enough to keep us going until the next one..... I find that few of the supermarkets have offers on their own brands so although supermarket own-brand are cheaper when you compare full price, you can get the big brands cheaper if you shop around a bit!

I've used asdsa little angels and aldis both were really good. Don't like huggies as they leak.

I have loads of huggies at the moment as I seem to get loads of vouchers and freebies for them. At asdas baby event you can get the huggies starter pack for £3 which has a newborn pack of 27, baby wipes, cotton wool pleats and then money off vouchers for your next one. So I get my boxes for about £1!

I have heard Aldi are really good and asda's little angels but to be honest its all personal choice and each baby is different. xx

were trying aldi as a 1st resort. i only bought 3 packs of 27 which cost me less than £6 so if they dont work out i havent lost as much as if we had tried pampers etc and they were no good.

Boots own brand are awful!

Aldi are really good and my favourite, asda's are good too. I've never used sainsburys but I've heard good things from friends, we just don't have a sainsburys near us.

When my dd was very little I read an article saying that Lidl nappies were the best all rounder. They don't do tiny baby ones so we will be using Pampers (better than Huggie sin my opinion) but I can heartily reccomend them after a couple of months.
My dd is 3 and only wearing them at night now but she has been wearing them since she was six months old and we have never had a leak/nappy rash/discomfort. And they are really cheap!

I've been told asda's are really good.. my sister in law uses these for both my 2 yr old nephew and 9 month old niece x

I think all kids are different and it depends. I childmind and I prefer the supermarket brands for my daughter....she pee's straight out of pampers in less than an hour (she does drink alot!)
