I only ever used a blanket to swaddle my first and it never really worked for us. I still have some blankets but want to try some premade swaddle blankets too (im determined to have a better sleep experience this time around lol). I bought one woombie so far, and am looking at getting a swaddle pod (a cheaper knock-off version). What other swaddlers do people recommend trying?

Mine HATED being swaddled with a blanket, but absolutely loved the SwaddleMe Swaddles and the Halo Sleepsack Swaddles.

The miracle blanket saved my life with both babies! Showed it to the midwife sat hospital and they loved it too :)

Thanks for both ideas! I see miracle blanket lots. What is so special about it, it looks like the typical swaddle me blankets? Lots of moms love it though so it must do something right!

I checked it out and looks like you pin the arms down and then swaddle. A lot have great success, but I've seen some stories about babies not using their arms after being wrapped like that for a while. Someone in my due date group had to stop and took a few weeks for their baby to start really using her arms again so it's scared me away from those.

I have never heard of anything like that about the miracle blanket before?! There are 'straps' inside the blanket to secure the babies arms down if they really struggle with startle reflex but you don't have to use them if you don't want to. I have used it both ways and have never had any problems. As I said I showed it to midwives at the hospital and they liked it because it doesn't constrict the babies hips, which regular swaddling can do. Buy one honestly they are great!

I used a seaddle similar to the miracle blanket and my kids never had issues using their arms. Never heard that one before.

I loved the miracle blanket swaddle. It was the only swaddle that worked to keep my son from escaping. I think that maybe there were other issues with the babies not being able to use their arms. I don't think a swaddle could do that.

Thank you! I will definitely be adding a miracle blanket to my collection then. Good to know about the arms I will keep an eye open for it. I havent seen much about that happening with other babies though so I also wonder if something else was going on with her baby. Definitely something to be aware of though thanks :)
