bf late?

Anyone attempt BF a week or so after birth? Just curious, I got her to latch on the first night she was born, and then after that having visitors and doctors in all the time made it pretty much impossible to try again, plus I ended up so exhausted...

Then at about day 4 my boobs became so engorged nothing could touch them lol.

And now ive been pumping BM. I did try a couple nights ago to BF her but I dont think it was a good time to try, she was kind of fussy anyways, but I gave up lol.

Its not a big deal to me, I am happy she is getting a bit through expressing (1oz a feed with 2oz formula).

Just dont know if I should bother trying or not. Dont know if I want to either.

Yup - my twins wouldn't breast feed for at least the first week - I just kept expressing to keep the supply going and feeding them with a syringe (was told to avoid bottles as that puts them of breast feeding) - but after a few weeks of syringes I got seriously fed up and switched to bottles - then finally they got the hang of breast feeding - that must have been at least week 4!
