for an empty boob to get full again? I have just started the Contented Sleep Routine and my milk supply has gone a bit mad as a result. I ended up trying to feed Leo before a nap only an hour after he had been fed and there wasnt much there at all, well not enough for him to settle anyway. Any ideas lovelies ...??!!

I like to leave it 2 hrs between feeds to get enough to fill her but TBH I know the 'feel' empty but they never truely run out - they just have to work harder!!

I find drinking loads speeds things up. :)

I agree. I tend to have at least a couple of pints of water and that seems to help xx

I'm sure that there is no exact time it takes, i'm pretty sure that with breast feeding, if you feed every 2 hours, the breasts take 2 hours... if you feed every hour, the breasts take an hour... i think at least... somehow boobies 'learn' our babies routine.

it takes me about an hour and a half two hours

Kaya was a frequent feeder and my breasts would at least partly refill after half an hour. Once your supply has regulated, your breast will never get full as they produce milk as the baby feeds.

I didnt realise this!! Clever boobies!! Mine only feel really full over night but I know they are full even when they feel soft.

Well, I pumped 3 oz out of one boob the other night and then Poppy decided she was hungry straight after :dohh:

I was really anxious that she would go and get nothing but that wasn't the case. Although it was spraying out at her like it normally does, and she had to work a little harder at it, she definitely got enough to keep her going. And this was literally 10 mins after pumping! I think sometimes it's deceptive, i.e. if your boobs feel soft, you think they are empty but this not necessarily the case (thankfully).

Tabitha eats alllll the time, is quite interesting to find this out.

I read somewhere it takes 2hours but i guess its all supply and demand. If your LO feeds every hour then it would take an hour.

Also the lactation consultant told me that we only 'store' about 25% the rest is done on demand.....not sure if she was right though?

I totally agree :)

My boobs are always soft as Harry feeds constantly!! I worry if they are soft they must be empty!!
