Hi Ladies

Just looking for some advice again!

We are attending o/h mums wedding on the 24th July and I am really stuck on what to wear?? Olivia is bf and will take breast milk from a bottle sometimes but can get really fussy. I am more than happy to bf in public but have no idea what to wear.

As it is o/h mums wedding I have been 'told' I need to wear a posh frock but all the dresses I can find don't look bf friendly and I dont want to have o remove a whole dress as mama2b did when she was a bridesmade...

Any suggestions/previous experiences???

Thanks you xxx

i have a wedding coming up and thought this might be ok:

also if you want to wear something a bit more strappy you could have a shawl thing, that way you can use it when feeding to be more discreet and also keeps you warmer if it gets cold :)

Try a wrap around dress, if you accessorise well it should look quite posh but would also be practical.

Good to see your planning ahead lol

I would probably get a really floaty dress that you can slip the the straps down or the same with a top.

The dress I wore was like a strapless prom dress and it was a size to small (fitted before I was pregnant) so not only did I have to take it off but it was bloody impossible to get back on !!!

Whatever you buy try it whilst you are wearing the bra you intend to wear to the wedding as some of my nursing bras are quite chunky and don't go with certain tops.

If you can't find a dress that you are comfortable with then tell them tough you will wear what you want. I could tell people were questioning why i was bf as people kept commenting that bottle feeding much easier. Felt like telling to sod off and next time i will do whats best for the sake of a wedding and not my babies health ! I missed the speeches because had to feed lucas and i even got comments about that.

To be perfectly honest i wouldn't go to a wedding again with a baby as it was just to noisy, when we were having the meal they made an announcement for the bride and groom and everyone was clapping and whistling, I though Lucas was going to jump out the pram he was that scared ! Also even though I tried to limit people picking him up when he did get held he would end up being passed to some random that wanted a cuddle ! When I was trying to get him off to sleep in the pram one of my friends was leaning in saying 'you want a cuddle don't you' picked him up even though id just said not to and within 2 mins he was crying so I had to calm him back down !!

Sorry ive ended up ranting on had to get it off my chest lol, but seriously if you can't find anything thats comfortable then wear what you like and be happy :) xx

Thanks for the advice ladies. May have to try and track down the next dress and see what it looks like on ......

I was thinking about trying a few wrap dresses but when I mentioned this to o/h he pulled a face (he was the one who said I needed to wear a posh frock), but he can take a flying jump lol.

I agree with you are saying, Olivia is going to the day time and will only be spending a short time at the night do. Olivia cluster feeds in the evening and is normally settled in bed for around 9pm-10pm and if I miss this slot, she will be a nightmare to settle.

dunno if its what ur looking for but might b worth a try...

Let us know what you choose to wear :)

Thinking about it I would go to a wedding in future with a baby if it was family but if it was just another friend then id have to think twice as they all seem to turn into bridezilla on the day !!

i have just bought a halter neck dress for a wedding, that way i can go somwhere a bit discreet and pull one side down and use a shawl or blanket to cover up.

p.s it ties at at back of the neck
