Remember me??? Well, I got induced the day before my due date because the
doctor was worried about preeclampsia. So, 9/26/11 I went in to get checked
for my 40 week appointment. My blood pressure was high, I had rapid weight
gain(5lbs in a week 11 in 2 weeks), excess swelling, and nausea. So my Dr.
told me to go into Labor and Delivery at 8PM but to call at 7PM to make sure
no one bumped me. Well, I called at 7PM and it appeared that a CROWD of
people bumped me. So they said they'd call when they had room. They called
at 6:45(ish)AM. I freaked out, I was SO happy. I woke Alec up(FOB) and my
mom andwe went to the hospital. By the time I ate, packed the car, checked,
double checked, & triple checked and got to the hospital it was 8PM. They
started me on fluids then gave me a vaginal pill to "ripen the cervix"... for got
what it was called... Not much happened. My doctor told me at the appointment
to expect the ripening to take at least 24 hrs since I was so little progressed.
The gave me a second vaginal pill and the contractions hit hard. I was thinking
"oh my gosh... I am going to die before I have this baby!" I thought I was over
reacting. At some point I was thinking "Can we just stop and go home and do
this later?
Finally the last vaginal pill was giving to me. After she inserted
it she told me I was still 1CM and 50% effaced. I felt like I was going to cry.
Alec was there for every contraction. He helped SO much. He helped me
breathe, which honestly, I needed. I kept holding my breath. Anyways,
back to the story. She after the third pill my contractions got miserable
immediately. I thought "WTF I HAVE 16 MORE HOURS OF THIS!"
So it must have been 8PM. My water broke at about 11:30. I had
horrible back pain. I had already taken an IV drip medication, also have no
idea what it was called. When she gave me the option I said yes before
she gave me the name of it. Then I got my epidural right after my waters
broke. I was sooooooo happy. I was laughing and joking. I don't regret it at
Then the nurse came to check me. I said I felt his head right there and she
looked at me like I was crazy and told me to expect to be at the hospital til
at least the next night. Well, She checked me, and I was 10+2 and his head
was RIGHT there. She was SO shocked, and so was the whole Labor and
Delivery staff. They prepped the room "pronto" for his birth. The nurse came
in and told me to do a practice push. I pushed once and the nurse told me
that was a really week push. I pushed again, and she told me to stop because
the doctor needs to get here before he comes out. So, the Dr. got to
the hospital, I had 3 sets of 3 pushes and my beautiful baby was out! Looks
just like his daddy! 6lbs9oz 19.5 inches long. He was born at 11:56. About
30 mins after my water broke!
We are so happy. He's a great baby and give me lots of sleep!
